Is 3.26 a gpa you have to explain in financial job interviews or is it good enough?

Do you honestly think interviewers will ask for your GPA rather than who you know in the company?

Your are right, but if you have no connections, most Ibanks will trash you if you don't have at least a 3.5.

if your GPA is so low you cant get interviews(3.5 / 3.7 is usual cutoffs), it matters.

That's like jesus offering you work. If you turned it down you would not only be pissing away free glory even if you died, but everybody in your town would view you as a retard for the rest of your life and your children as well.

It doesn't matter in the real world if you already have extensive industry experience. If you are babby's first banking job, GPA will matter. A LOT. Stop spewing bullshit you obviously have no clue talking about.

what minorities would be good to fill in?

>> No.692696

This isnt college, minorities are discriminated against in the workplace.
Getting a job does have to do with if an employer likes you and wants to work with you. Your employer might not have gay friends, he doesnt want to work with gays, so your resume goes into the trash and you cant prove thats why he rejected you.

This is a part of reason why blacks have such a big income gap still. For awhile the answer was thought to be getting blacks into elite colleges would solve the income gap but no that they are we realize it doesnt matter, They still arent getting hired regardless of their education.

Meh, depends upon your other credentials. If you've got a solid portfolio, i.e. internship, work history, it probably won't matter. However, baring those, it could make a difference. Connections and networking are the most important aspects to landing something real/decent.

If you're going into finance you won't find a single job with that GPA. Just apply to McDonalds, you blew your education.

Anything under 3.5 is not worth mentioning. Don't bring it up, and leave it off the resume.

If asked, tell them your GPA and then add that you took challenging courses, and that had lots of exciting extracuricular activities.

Here's an insider tip. You should LITERALLY lie 100% of the time on the online application. Only HR looks at it, the people actually doing the hiring are only interested in your actual resume so they won't even know what you filled in online. Online applications are made specifically so that HR can have an easy time le trashmanning potential hires.

A lot of places I applied required a copy of your transcript also

Depends. Working at MS and have a 3.9. Roommate has a 3.3 and is at Barclays. His uncle is an md there. The point is how well you network matters far more than your grades.

Latino. Banks jizz themselves over latinos. Or gay minorities. One of the dumbest fuckers I've met at school got Goldman as a sophomore because he's a gay, black, first generation college attendee. Affirmative action is real and much more of a problem in the working world than people admit.
