I think someone simplify this so it's accessible to EVERYone, whether it be anon or your gran. That's what would give this or any other cryptocurrency for that matter, a unique edge. It's still not accessible to the general public. All it would take is a single simple, but as yet non-existent tutorial, and as streamlined a wallet update process as is possible. The first person to make a single cryptocoin which is easily available to anyone who owns a PC, could have a chance of bettering bitcoin.
i tried to simplify mining for the super-newbs (much like myelf) here:
>>67131
...but that was about to 404 just as I posted it, and I completely forgot that people would probably need an AMD gpu, and would have had to install AMD SDK, the latest drivers, and probably a load of other things I'm still forgetting.
I think it's easy to assume everyone has prior knowledge; i think it's easy to forget how much we've learned in a very small time. Make it accessible to everyone and you've got an edge even btc still lacks.

Amdoge will personally kill it. He has AT LEAST 80 million at this point, and that is without the server fees. Don't forget yesterday was at 3 difficulty, so he was making about 40 to 50 million a day.

fuck man, that's pretty bad.
i've got a radeon 5670 upstairs which i bought for £130, something like five years ago. It gets ~150kh/s. They're probably about £1 on ebay by now.

I could have had a radeon 7990 for £400 from scan.co.uk in november, couldn't get the money together in time, they sold out in like a week, 4 days before i had the cash. That card is a legend amongst miners. 1.4mh/s for £400, whereas my £200 270 is sometimes SEVEN times slower, at 200k. If I'd had the money to invest, I could have bought every 7990 from scan, then sold them for twice the price on ebay one week later. More than twice the price - some people were paying over a grand.

I'm rambling because I'm stoned.
Does anyone have a butterfly labs machine? Or one of the CPU miners from the Brit company whose name I forget? They're supposedly capable of 600gh/s, which jesus fucking christ, anyone able to calculate how many pandacoins that could generate in 24 hours?

These earnings are not trivial:

Basically, we need to figure out a Proof of Existence or Proof of Age scheme for wealth distribution (either automatically give N/[connected peers in the network] coins at a set interval (proof of existence), or proportional to how long the wallet has been opened to life (proof of age)). This has the advantage of being relatively fair (less so for proof of age, though it could be modified for increased fairness in some way I imagine), while being energy-friendly. Open wallets would be transmitting transaction logs, and a distributed cryptography system could be formed from the network to receive anonymous vote results on whether a transaction happened or not, for instance (this justifies the proof of age idea as the longer a wallet is open, the longer it has helped the network).

I think that's true of every company trying to engineer dedicated mining hardware right now.
Alpha Technologies is the British company whose name I forgot earlier. They advertise all kinds of shit they can't deliver too, same as butterfly labs.
One of the many companies attempting to build mining hardware will eventually succeed, and it'll just be a case of knowing which one has enough funding, that it can afford to be the first to properly go to market. I'd buy one.
