4chans sucesss was that it was the first really anonymo;us imageboard where you didnt need to sign up and had mods that stayed in the background

with Canvass and Drawquest - the market is pretty saturated - also the addition of an anon option wouldnt really be enough to draw people in - because people who create great art want to be recognized
