This is actually really simple math
let's say:
1XLM = 10XLM
this means:
1XLM = 10 x 1XLM
if we substract 1XLM:
0 = 9XLM
so:
XLM = 0/9 = 0


That's why 1 XLM can not x10 ever, it would instantly crash to zero
