Hello /biz/,
I have a question regarding credit limit and balances. I've recently got a $1000 Visa card from my bank, and the balance on my card is $37.78. My available credit is $955.10.
My question is, where did that roughly $7 go? I don't pay fees on this card as I have other accounts at this bank, and there is nothing in my transactions list. It seems like this $7.12 has simply disappeared.
Should I wait for the cards statement to come before I go to the bank and figure this all out? Do some banks lower the credit limit by a certain percentage of the current balance? I am with RBC (canada)

It's called the Nigger Tax, google it.

If you bought something for 7$ in the last day or few days that would be the reason.

It's on hold and will be available soon if you didn't spend it

My cards with other banks always show holds/online authorizations. Is it common in the US for holds not to be shown?
