This faggot is the reason people don't like selling on eBay. He didn't even read anything OP said and started bashing like he knows anything about being a seller on eBay.

1. OP now has a defect on his account
2. OP now has 99% or lower percentage
3. OP now can either have his sales lowered or completely removed after a few more negatives.

Oh but you don't care because you expect every seller to bow to you because you're buying something. kkkill yourself

Long story short, faggot said he wouldn't accept the package so he could get his $$$ back cause he didn't read the FUCKING title/description of me explaining what the fuck BAD ESN was.

I'm not paying $20 to have package intercepted, wait for it to be returned.
He opens case, I call up eBay, explain how dumb this fuck was and tell them what I want them to fucking do right away. Black brotha from another motha laughs at the story and closes in my favor.

Buyer rages over messages, I block him from purchasing anything else.
It doesn't end there...this faggot really used his wife or friends account to buy something. I refuse to ship, he opens a case few days after, I call up eBay and they tell me to ship and if anything happens I should call back. Of course something FUCKING HAPPENED.

So coincidentally I just got into this as I was cleaning out some of my old shit. I love to throw old things away and declutter, but with some of my tech stuff (old graphics card, spare HDMI cables, etc) I realized I could probably sell em.

I've already auto-blocked streaking bad buyers, I don't do most international, I only do paypal and credit cards. Anything else I should be aware of?

A lot of people are simply ignoring requests made from buyers because they know they can call Ebay and get the feedback removed if the buyer is being an idiot.

Also, you'll find there's no point in even trying to correct a problem after bad feedback is left because even if it's removed your ratings are still hurt and those don't get fixed when the feedback is removed. You can simply message buyers "Due to new Ebay policies I will not be able to assist you in this situation because negative feedback was already left before contacting me. Sorry for this inconvenience." It's lulzy but seriously, big sellers are doing this now if people just leave bad feedback right away and start making demands for refunds.

Big enough where you don't give a fuck about a negative.

It sucks trying to start a biz now on Ebay. You're basically going to have to bend over and eat costs so that buyers don't leave negative feedback. It sucks but if you can stick it out then there's more money to be made from less competition. Ebay isn't really going to be easy money anymore. You need to make sure you have a margin that is still good after the fees, shipping costs, and the probability of having refunds/issues. I mean, Ebay offers a large market for you to sell to so I personally think it's worth it. I do think the new policies will be buyer friendly since that's where the money is technically coming from and I'm okay with it since I'm fine with adapting.

I set up the ecommerce site for a computer shop, with nice professional layouts being generated for each ebay listing, and the orders/stock all being synced and managed through magento.

They put up an expensive apple laptop in the first week of the new site launch, which is unusual because they usually sell refurbished business laptops and trade-ins (old thinkpads, HPs, shitty toshibas etc.). I did the product photography specifically for this item too to show it off better nicely. It sold on auction for something like £400. The woman who bought it relisted it before it was even shipped to her, with the description ripped from the original listing. I noticed because she ended up taking some of the icons with it too (after ripping off the companies logo) which were hotlinked from the companies domain name. She even used all of the photos, some of which weren't on the listing but on the website.

She fucking got more money for it than the business did! It wasn't worth the effort to contact ebay about it, and leaving negative feedback only leads to negative feedback yourself (fucking broken system), so it was ignored. But I checked her feedback and she only had about 4 entries, the first of which was for an ebook on "how to make money on ebay" and the others were other apple products like ipods.

So OP: Buy apple devices from power sellers (with thousands of feedback), and you'll magically make more money (with just 4 feedback) by reselling!

Anyways, label printers don't use Ink...a single roll of 250 labels cost me $2 since I buy bulk.

USPS hasn't said anything, even took it into the post office a few times while heading to class and they just laugh at the stickers (been doing this for a few months now).

It might be because I've recently started withdrawing money as soon as I receive it, but I only do that because it's the only way to pay with a credit card (reward points).

>get paid
>withdraw money
>pay for everything with CC
>pay CC immediately
>free points, no interest

If they'd just go back to letting you select an alternative form of paying without having an active balance, it wouldn't be an issue.

Goddamn this. Whenever someone offers to pay with USPS money order my dick gets hard as diamonds.

lol I read that and wanted to respond but felt it would be a waste of time. I used to sell alot and buy alot on CL until I realize how risky I was playing everything.

The continuous no shows/no call backs/pranksters made me just stop. Oh and some people really think they can get away with a fake $100 bill...

Also eBay and Amazon are a lot more convenient to sell on

The whole feedback system is retarded. You can have 100 positive feedback ratings but just 1 negative feedback sets you back from 100% to fucking 97.5%.

>I leave sellers response saying that he hadn't added oil like he was supposed to

In a single year I managed to go from 0 feedback to 195 feedback as a buyer...Now I want to sell some stuff I have lying around the room but reading these posts scare me from selling.
If only every buyer was like myself and the seller as competent as the one ive done businesss with. No bullshit pay immediately after listing ends and receive the item as it was deacribed.
If I decide to sell, should I take advantage of those free listing weeks ebay frequently sends sometimes?

>> No.649604

Do people really care about feedback that much?
I mean if they see a top rated seller(1000+ items sold), and 3-4 negative comments, they're not just gonna buy from the next guy with maybe 10 items sold and 100% feedback.

Well that might not be you, but some sellers are assholes when it comes to small print.
Like they advertise a *NEW LAPTOP*, but put it under used/refurbished section, and include it in the small print in their 20 page manual.

eBay is being overrun by kids trying to make a buck nowadays

Judging by his outcome, I can tell he's a new seller that doesn't understand what he's even doing.

>>649599
I'd take 6 years ago over this new bs system.

What new bs system are you referring to? I plan on selling an electronic device and a couple video games. Ebay tends to send messages regarding their free listing for a max of ten items, for new sellers. Ill probably take advantage of that and sel some stuff
Have any tips for a beginner who will probably sell only once? Will having a feedback of 190+ and a join date of 6 years ago help keep idiots away?

Exaclty, and it's actually illegal for eBay to take a fee out of a buyer's shipping due to postal regulations. Oh but no one gives a damn because eBay is too big now.

>>649856
Amazon is 100% poo poo, a buyer can come back 100 days later and still get a refund. I used to own an old amazon account that let me take out my money every 24hours. I opened a new account (because since mine I was old it couldn't get a seller update...blah blah blah long story). Anyways, new account opens and my payments are only released every month...wtf. Closed and stayed with eBay.

>>649774
Don't fall for that bait...

>>649758
I sell up to 10-20 things on a given day, I'd call myself a power seller for I'm always on my PC ready to print out labels for new shipments. You seem like someone who just sells household items. I'm not saying there's nothing wrong, I'm saying that you're in more danger than I am. Best of luck but if a buyer claims that the old iPhone you sent them doesn't even work, ebay will grant them a return. When they do, you can either expect a box of spoons or a picture of an iPhone with rocks.

Yea, I stay far the fuck away from Amazon. I do sell some shit on etsy, but other than that, it's eBay. All my worthless shit gets off-loaded at the flea market or auction house or scrap yard.

>I'm the asshole that sells game systems without power cords since I scrap the power cords for copper.

In my experience, just having a power cord for something like a PS2 adds no value to the system at all. It'll sell for the same price, so you might as well make a few more shekels.

Are there any links for first time sellers I should look into? How will I know how much shipping will be or where to find a good estimate site? Is it random as it was mentioned earlier in the thread, and you just have to jack it up?

I do free shipping on everything, works for me for I don't have to deal with refunding shipping if anything goes wrong.

there's tons of videos/reviews you can search on forums. Just make sure to read the updated ones for eBay's recent shit tier updates.

I knew you were selling a phone because that's what everyone usually does that doesn't know much on eBay. It's just luck...you might be successful in sales or you might be scammed. No one is dumb enough to come after a power seller...cause they know I'll shut them down.
