Let's see how Windows 10 perform in the market. I highly doubt people already have Windows 7 or even 8 with classic shell would change switch to Windows 10 though.

WP has been a failure. They need to come up something really innovative against the surge of Apple Inc.

They need to own the cloud space completely. That means buying box (lel) or dropbox (kek). Going after the business hosting market that is being dominated by rackspace and AWS. Spinning off the Xbox and dropping the Surface, and Windows phone.

Good fucking luck.

If you like MSFT at $47, you should love it at $42. Buy more! Unless that is, you just bought something without knowing fuckall about it.

>> No.630891

>>630842

if you are going to hold msft long, you have to believe it is because of something other than their OS sales, which will not be as great as they were when MSFT was a great stock to buy.

I bought them a year or two back on xbox, kinect, sql server, sharepoint and their proffesional services division (which is still sort of a joke in terms of professionalism and capability compared to competitors, but i think picking up steam)

that said.. msft is probably overpriced at it's current market values. I do think there is value in the company overall.

they are doing some truly innovative things with surface and touch screens and desktop interoperability. i LOVE my windows phone, and i think if more people would give it a try they would see how great it is.. but apple has the app store locked up.. and no one is going to catch up ever...

msft is a buy at 30 and a sell at 45 for me.

msft is one of the best dividend paying tech stocks out there and you honestly are upset because "omg stocks are volatile". get fucking real. save up some cash and buy some more next year and keep reinvesting your dividends. you'll be happy you weren't such a triggy happy dumbfuck in ten years.

oh wait you bought this stock because you wanted to make some quick cash for next year? yeah, good luck with that. you'd be better off with lotto tickets imo because that way when you lose money you at least have some kind of an idea what happened to it.

No, it's purely a play by the Saudis to hurt Russia. Any impact it will have on the US oil fields or other allied countries like Nigeria or Denmark is an afterthought.

It's not a coincidence that we had a massive oil price collapse during this Ukrainian-Russia thing.

Anyone who thinks saudi arabia is targeting russia is surely retarded. Everything indicates that OPEC is trying to drive out competitors to gain back the market share the US is taking from them, which if left unchecked would destabilize the power of OPEC completely. >dropping the surface

You're kidding aren't you? Devices like the surface connected to cloud services is essentially the future for business.

In 5-10 years mainstream corporate won't be buying laptops anymore they will be looking to buy the best business tablet to replace their current fleet of laptops. When they look around the market what devices are actually going to be attractive to them? A lot of older corporate guys I know love their surface - they see it more as a productivity device rather than the toy which most people see iPads as.

Now, the big risk is when Apple eventually release their iPad pro but I think it's going to take a lot of effort for apple to get further into the business market which traditionally doesn't fall quite so easily for marketing.

I don't believe win 8 is a bad OS but it's become somewhat of a culture to hate every new version of win that come out.

>> No.632336

Anyway, win 10 is gonna run on all your devices - phone, pc, tablet.
Theoretically that means that you'll now be able to run all win applications on your phone.
They've also decided to bring back UI elements of older win OSs' to appease all those whiney faggots who can't figure out anything new.
So I'm pretty excited for win 10.
If theres any company that can buy their way into the mobile phone market it's MS.

That guy's a fucking idiot. He doesn't even realize that his sort of mindfuckery is exactly what made Microsoft lose everything. Windows 8 was shit because the dumbasses working for MS had the same mentality that everything should be a fucking cell phone.

Welp, we saw how that worked out. Personally, I fucking hate tablets and phones. No serious person is going to get work done on them because they're not designed for serious work and they're cumbersome when you attempt to get something other than playing a fucking game done on them.

These guys are spot-on. The form factor of a tablet is great if you're some start-up guy doing "work" on Facebook at the coffee shop. But touch is an impossible interface for doing anything more. You know any accountants who use a tablet?
