If you want Nintendo currency, you have Gold coins that you obtain via claiming when you purchase their game.

And yes, that’s precisely right, because the point of cryptocurrency is to have it interact within the whole ecosystem. If it’s just Nintendo, having a centralized db on their servers is much more logical, not to mention easier to change depending on their business strategy (no forks, etc)
