Because it is the only crypto normies can buy and actually USE? It's not a matter of holding it, it's a matter of a huge influx of money into crypto, and most of it is going to go through LTC at least at one point, and this is going to increase its value tremendously until it's the new ETH. ETH is going to replace BTC and LTC is going to replace ETH.

While you make good arguments, the charts don't back it up. That downtrend is strong, and ETH is showing the opposite.

The moment you get away from BTC, normies will look at the charts. They don't give a shit about trading times, fuck, they can't even muster up the effort to figure out how to get to an exchange. They'll see that ETH is strong, wait for a slight dip, and go in on that. The normies are on coinbase. They can't figure out how to get anywhere else, and when they do, they'll make bad trades. They really don't matter that much once they're diversified outside of BTC.

Maybe if the process of moving to an exchange is somehow streamlined, or elaborated upon on coinbase (unlikely), LTC will have a place, but as of right now I don't see any indicator that it's going to gain traction.
