Thanks for your honest response. I don't mind being wrong about something, but want to explain what I believe to be a fundamental misunderstanding about the entire situation as a whole.

I think it's incorrect to think of precious metals (especially gold) in terms of fiat value. The reason most here are encouraging or excited about holding gold and silver isn't because they think of it as an investment in the same sense as TSLA, APPL, BTC, etc. All of these investments (especially crypto) are more speculative than PMs because their value is in dollars, which are simply nothing more than I.O.Us dispensed from governments. Trading in debt is useful. When the dominant system invariably fails, as it has dozens of times throughout history, the purchasing power of this debt falls to nearly zero. As an example, look at Weimar, Venezuela, half of Africa, etc.

the reason many of us don't trust crypto is because, at the end of the day, it's simply fiat, with no underlying or intrinsic value outside of the faith and trust of whatever government issued it. Fiat is the 'trust me bro' financial system.

You may be right in thinking governments could confiscate gold in the future. Even though I don't think it likely, this is why we have the mantra "if you don't hold it, you don't own it."

on a long enough timeline, i think every financial system will eventually collapse. PMs give us the most control and higher probability to make it through to the other side, to the next system.

That said, most of us also have some crypto. We just see it for what it is, a temporary solution to a much larger problem. PMs aren't necessarily for a SHTF or TEOTWAWKI, but make perfect sense to hold for a revaluation, pegging of fiat to PMs, collapse of financial systems, stores of value, etc.

That's basically 200 oz, so not very bulky or heavy. You can hide that much easily in various spots in your house. Those tiny safe aren't worth buying. If you're going to buy one, get a least a gun size safe. You'll have lots of room in there and you can load it up with an engine block and other heavy shit (plus of course your silver). Also those can be bolted down to the floor and/or wall from inside the safe.

I’m back btw. Posted below. Posting silber to not be a fag.
I guess historically pms have a better chance to outlive crypto on maybe a 1000 year time span based on history. It does feel like saying horse power will out last vehicles because they’ve been around longer though.
Its a new frontier because it’s digitizing the once physical whereas vehicle va horse is physical vs physical
You do have to price pms in dollars because it’s a constant comparator and it’s what we’re all saying it’ll hold up against.
I just don’t like the obvious pm shills and cult mindset. Pms are great but there’s obvious group think and mantras which I eschew.
Honestly the best case for PMs in my mind is that’s its analog money, like physical dollars, that’s is inflation resistant over a long enough timeline. It’s worth to have some. Like holding physical dollars.
Thank you for real discourse

I recently acquired a lot of romanian coins on egay. The deal was an absolute banger, really happy about it. Problem is about 2/3rd of the coins showed up coated with some kind of disgusting, rancid smelling "glue". It looks like some protective layer added to prevent scratches or oxidation, idk, but it's very sticky, translucid, a bit like a wood varnish that wouldn't dry.

In this day and age we have dozens of stories as well of crypto anons being locked out of accounts, cold wallet deletions, unable to withdraw funds, funds seized by various governments etc. Confiscation is not unique to gold. The government has seized land historically. Do you advise anons not to purchase land? It's a dumb argument.

You support a system where 90% of it is owned by 1% and don't see an issue with that. It is because you are a monkey and are only good at one thing, dancing. So get to it.

I love silver. Knowing that the banks are on the cusp of insolvency due to the glut of commercial real estate is actually quite comfy. The banks' inability to continue lending to overbought assets classes is actually quite the conundrum that will most likely be solved by dollar dilution. Inflation is often thought of as a phenomenon that impacts all things equally, when in reality it is often targeted. The most dangerous inflation is one that impacts Main Street and/or real world goods such as silver. The concerted effort to pump BTC is an obvious gimmick being played to get people's excess demand to flow in to an asset class that they can pump and dump. Allowing physical silver to run is much more dangerous for obvious reasons.
A smart investor is like a quarterback. You don't throw the ball directly at your wide receiver. You ANTICIPATE his movement and lead the ball. This is what stackers accomplish with their foresight and patience. When the banks collapse it will be a catastrophic event that no one will be able to avoid. By hedging our exposure to the credit crunch, we will be well positioned to avoid the pain in the present. The nonstop anti silver shilling with BTC making some runaway moves has all of the hallmarks of a pump and dump most likely being orchestrated to help pay for a certain short squeeze that is all but guaranteed.

I don't think Peter Schiff's macro outlook is entirely unjustified even if the timing is all wrong. International trade agreements are things none of us are privvy too and the timelines are going to go one much longer than what we expect.
On a metaphysical level, in what world would it be the case that the monetary malfeasance can continue indefinitely and we expect commodity prices to crab forever?
The financial situation is not going to get better without a massive write off that will impoverish people and not make us wealthier. Much of the money being spent on BTC is not cash, but most likely leveraged money which will force ungodly amounts of selling in order to cover loans at some point in the future.
Silver actually has a well know MASSIVE short interest that is suppressing the price. So in terms of capital vs credit, it is outside of the financial system but also over-sold meaning that a precipitous rise is in our future.

Can’t remember exact year but the original run came out late 70s. Colonial did another run in 1986 with a montage of 9000. These had a fancier reverse with knotted rope motif and “Last of the Windjammers” in cursive script. The original run just had the name of ship and its length. I have never been able to find the mintage on that run.

This is a great image. American "capitalism" works by literally everyone agreeing to stash their capital away in credit & IOUs. Your willingness to defer consumption and give away your surplus is what keeps things moving. And all of the payments owed to you come from dollar-dilution.
Once you really start to wrap your head around what the system is you can see that is boils down to one simple decoder-lens: Capital vs Credit.

Nothing could be comfier than having stacks of valuable, scarce materials outside of the banking system.
When the financial system collapses and the masses need a store of value, silver will prove invaluable. And the real neck-snapping price movement will occur when industry literally has to price the retail investor out of buying investment silver. People will get paid and need a place to store their long-term savings. But how in fuck can the tiny little market cap of silver service the entire globe when even the ENTIRE yearly output of silver gives you a penny size worth of silver? Half of it is currently used in industry so you only get half a penny worth of silver to invest.
I can't help but think about this gif every time I think about how razor-thin this market is. It makes me almost sick thinking about it because I think the price-action we are used to makes us predisposed to thinking we'll only get a 10x in the price. When reality, I think the price shifts materially in relation to gold in such a way that we'll be extremely wealthy in a time when poverty runs rampant.

There's a man who pretends to own yachts, condos, and jets,
But what he loves most is cleaning up bets —
Not poker chips or stocks or bonds,
But a beach of condoms, tossed and beyond.

With his fake gold-plated shovel, he digs in the sand,
Not for treasure, but for things unplanned.
"Why, oh why, would a millionaire do this?"
You ask, as you watch his dedicated bliss.

His mansion's got marble, his driveway's got class,
But on that beach? He'll scrub the grass.
"I've got millions in ones and zeroes, but this gives me peace,"
He says, as he picks up a love-struck crease.

You’d think he'd be chilling, sipping champagne,
But no — he's scrubbing, he's putting in pain.
"What's the point?" you ask, in confusion and shock.
He replies, "It’s not just about cleaning the block."

He’s got all the luxuries a man could desire,
But he’s moved by the heartache of beach-bound attire.
"Riches don’t solve everything," he quips with a grin,
"But at least on this shore, I'll help clean up sin."

So while you sit back with your drinks in hand,
He’s in the sand, doing what he’s planned.
A millionaire? No, but more than that,
He's the condom-cleaning king of the beach — and that’s a fact.

Silveer is more manipulated than Gold is and has a higher potential for growth compared to Gold
Gold is an incredible valuble metal and you can never go wrong with buying it but if you look at the GSR for most of history it sat between 1:15 to 1:30 but now it balloned to 1:85 which means that Silver is "cheap" compared to Gold
So when the Ratio sinks to something more realistic like 60 or in a best case scenario to something incredibkle low like 30 you can trade all your silver for Gold and end up with more Gold in the end then if you just bought gold nonstop
Also getting cheap Silver in germany and the EU in general is incredible hard so when there is an oppertuninty to buy for spot its best to get as much as possible

Study history. It isn't that hard. Many societies have collapsed worse than what America will go through. Guess what? People still wake up every morning and go out into the world and try and do something useful to trade so that others will do something useful for them in return. It is how human beings have survived since ancient prehistory. Things will be difficult for awhile, but people are much more resilient than you think. And one of the very first things people do when their economies are destroyed is develop a currency. Barter is inefficient and so it is quickly replaced with money. Even prisoners of war develop money economies. The farmer who produces ten times more eggs than he needs will trade the surplus for some fungible means of exchange (money) he can use to buy clothes or fuel or feed etc.

What do you mean lad, Trump was boosting crypto before he was even elected. Also, the gov is happy to keep their population constantly enslaved with credit card debt jew which IS a digital asset, nobody walks around with wads of cash now-a-days. Now I do wonder about a 1933-government type seizure of gold happening due to the mint, but in this current political climate (guns everywhere) that must be nigh impossible.

Devaluing the currency disincentivizes lending so you have it backwards. It incentivizes borrowing.
Imports ala the trade deficit are from a currency to currency deflationary effect as the reserve currency.
>don’t count on a magic v shape recovery
While sound advice, 2008 was hardly v shaped and I hear this parroted alot.
Treasury issuance pales in comparison to the balance sheet reduction currently under way. There’s an international shortage of dollars. Even China is hovering them up
>banks aren’t credit worthy
They all get bailed out which means no risk. Just tax payers foot the bill. Inflation gets exported via the dollar. How long can it go on for? Who knows. Communism in Russia lasted 60 years. One would surmise this game lasts longer. Thanks for playing.

1. Trump was not in office during that picture. Btw he’s still not in office yet
2. Gary gensler and Biden were very anti crypto
3 please don’t move the goalpost by including credit cards. You know damn well we’re talking about crypto vs pm
4 governments literally fucking sell you pms yet the schizos think governments don’t want you to own it. There’s even tax advantages. Ira. No sales tax in some states. Yet crypto only got a blessing through many court cases and probably in the softest way. It’s giga cope.
5 just because btc is hot right now doesn’t mean there’s any (new) suppression towards owning pms.
6 lots of nerds on this board champion other governments for buying up gold to pump their bags but reee when now the U.S. wants btc instead of more gold calling it a scam. schizo, the big boys and central banks want gold but now that they want btc that must be the scam. It’s super cope.
Just enjoy your metals

Another pic some other anon posted here last year. I like the Ceres (top left) but it's always been a high premium coin. I almost managed to grab some Louis Philippe (bottom right) that were on sale at acheter-or-argent, but some other anon here slurped up the entire stock (like 400 coins, LOL) while I was still thinking whether if I should buy some. Early bird gets the worm, etc.

>>59425854
Like the other anon said, it's getting harder to find silver cheapies in the EU. So always buy them when you get a chance, or you'll regret it later. Of course if you already have lots of silver already, then maybe it's not as important. For me it is though. I'm at 4173 oz and still trying to slurp silver cheapies. Because once the ship leaves port, there's no more second chance.

Its not as simple as you make it. The reality is that language and writing systems evolved freely back and forth between ethnic groups. What really sealed the deal was the printing press and mass publications of dictionaries. Its only these modern times where it has been solidified, largely due to the sciences and the spreading of Shakespeare plays.
