Just got back from an antique store run and picked up a 'Hayden Brothers & Co' spoon for $1. It doesn't show the slightest sign of being plated and has shined up extremely well. I think it's coin silver from the 1850s, but it ever so slightly sticks to a neodymium magnet. Is it possible an old alloys used something magnetic in it or is it just an anomaly piece of silverplate?

I mainly just give it as gifts for birthdays to family.
I always carry a pocket fondle that I try to shuck off onto people but no normies know about metal. I tried to buy a 20 dollar car radio at a yard sale from a Mexican with an onza libertad when spot was around 20. He didn't want it.
I've tried to pay rent in gold half ounces. Land lord would rather struggle to count the bills than take a single coin worth more than his ask. I went to a local farm during the halloween time and buy a pumpkin and milk and ice cream with an ase, they wanted me to use a card or cash.
The coin shillers ARE lying, but I like my metal. It goes jingle jingle when I clink em together. My....grandmother in law, she noted that the few dimes I have "sounded different" when we were just doing a look at what we've been doing, so that was cool.

Cut the pipe to size and then Christy's the caps on. Fill em with fun and then bury somewhere you'll remember. None of that shit is going anywhere.

If you're gonna keep it in your house's gun safe, go for something tl-30x6 if you're a baller.
The x6 means all six sides can be beaten on and thwomp'd for at least 30 minutes by whoever breaks into your house. I'd probably not tether it per se, but they have mounting options inside to screw into your floor or the studs.

Idk man. The best option is probably not letting anyone know about your safe. I think you said something like "not massively heavy." That's one of the key features, is to make it so tyrone needs to call jamal, dontravious and steve to get it out of your house and then open.

Platinum isn't a monetary metal. But it has unique properties for high-end industrial applications. The big potential for platinum is in the use of hydrogen as fuel. In spite of what the battery boys say, hydrogen is slowly gaining ground with the backing of giants like Toyota. I wouldn't suggest stacking it until you have a substantial stash of gold and silver. Platinum is more speculative and depends on the coming economic collapse being short-lived.

Pic related is how (you) can know you're bartering war nickles btw. I just realized that even Merc dimes would be too expensive for a beer or something similar. A 40% kennedy half dollar is worth 3 times as much as a war nickle. You'd probably be able to buy an entire steak dinner with a 40% kennedy half dollar. One Merc dime would equal one bj.

That's a reasonable price for 50 Fr hercule. They often have higher premiums than other junk, but also they tend to be in better condition because they basically never got circulated.
I don't have any of those ones yet. I bought 25 each of the 5 Fr and 10 Fr hercule coins last year, for 16.75 and 16.90 euros respectively (comes out to 23.15-23.36/oz). The 5 Fr are from the 19th century so they're really beat-up, but the 10 Fr are in pretty nice shape. And yeah they sound really nice when you click them!

AHOY SHIPMATE!
glad to meet a fellow seadog sailin' the high seas!
now if we're talking for real bury, it depends how long you want it to hide it there. for a long long long time, I'd say the material doesn't matter because I'd suggest wrapping it in a layer of plastic, then coating in bitumen, then another layer of plastic. That's how they waterproofed nuclear bunkers. multiple layers with bitumen tanking. you could even go further and build a brick/stone chamber at the bottom of a pit, use a flagstone as the lid, treasure sealed in plastic (as above) inside that.
Lets say it's more temporary and you want to access it more often; my grandfather had a safe hidden under a flagstone of his patio, in a brick-lined pit. Personally I would use an old fashioned vaulted steel trunk, with a good lip on the lid to prevent water ingress. His pit had no drainage or sump and would flood in heavy rain and he once had to dry all his fiat notes on indoor washing lines by the fireplace.

Tesla has entered the fuel cell electric car field, joining Toyota and others. As the initial burst of enthusiasm for battery electric vehicles is replaced by stagnation and a retrenchment, hydrogen continues with steady growth. This is bullish for platinum, which figures both in hydrogen production and in fuel cells. The future is in nuclear power and hydrogen. But silver and gold should come first for prudent stackers.

Property valuations in Texas are giga fucked to both ends of the spectrum. There are very nice and reasonably priced properties out in places no one really wants to live. The closer you get to (((cities))) along the corridor or to areas with better demographics, the higher the prices go even in areas that are rural. Coastals move in and fuck up the values in the city, locals move out to greener pastures and fuck up values in the countryside, though sometimes its on purpose just to keep out undesirables.

And for our new friends and naive posters please remember to refrain from feeding the shills (You)s. Let him starve, thanks.

I tried to get some a while ago but I couldn't justify the premiums. I do however have one silver coin from 1742, which is still identifiable but looks like it has been through hell and back. that's close enough to pirate-golden-age-era for me. However a real piece of 8 is still on the acquisition list.

Who is controlling the financial/monetary system?
Politicians?
Influencers?

It's borderline mongolism to fall into such a visible trap.

The masters of the world have been storing gold since the last financial crisis, but they're idiots, that's necessarily it, buy bitcoin, be smarter than those who control this planet.

Bit over 8 oz of Gold and a lot but not enough of Silver
I have a 5kg silber bar laying around somewhere but its to much of a hassle to get it out right now
My main goal is to get to 10oz if gold by whatever means be it sovereigns LMU coins or bars and then after 10 oz i plan to get more uniform gold I.E only stack one kind of coin ideally 1/4 Brittanias or eagles
They have an incredible high premium compared to the other stuff i get like Austrian gold but if i ever have to sell they have a better spread if i have to mass sell
Also i want to get atleast 2 full ounces Gold per year just for collecting
Ideally i want a coin of all the main Gold ones like Krugers American Eagles etc and then one special edition Brittania

She doesn't wear jewelry. I've given her gold and silver coins before. She isn't really excited about it. But she likes the fact that I am thinking about her and trying to protect her. I could get away with giving her some cheap trinket and she wouldn't complain. She is more interested in my attention than material things. But as long as she is under my protection I will try and increase her security.

Gave her picrel on another occasion. Its pretty than the platinum tranny.
