A few days after war is declared is the best time to sell.
Gold goes up on the potential of war because its a store of value irrelevant of sovereign backing, which is something that actually matters if a war breaks out, but in a wartime economy governments don't need gold they need cash, this means liquidating assets to buy things, Russia and China aren't buying shitloads of gold to just sit on it, they intend to spend it if war breaks out.
Its really important to understand the difference between the potential of war breaking out and war actually unironically breaking out.

How kikes get rich off of people who buy pm:

Kikes own mines in Africa in which the workers are not paid. The pm you are buying is from these mines. Stop supporting the slave trade of metals that are sourced from African mines.

Kikes use African mines with slaves to profit off of people who buy metals. Stop getting ripped off.

If you want precious metals, source them from african Slave mines just like the Kikes do.

Any /his/fags in here that can speak to situations in wartorn countries where someone's gold or silver bought them a ticket out? Surely it's prudent to leave prior to a civil war or hot war on one's own soil kicking off. However, I'm curious how valuable they are in a hot zone for civilians.

>> No.58967082

>Surely it's prudent to leave prior to a civil war or hot war on one's own soil kicking off
Not really. Fighting will happen in the cities primarily. If you’re already in a predominately white and conservative area you’ll be fine.

Where would you flee to outside the U.S.? Mexicans hate gringos and will smile at you while their buddies rob and kill you. Canadians are more cucked than Americans and you won’t be able to have any guns or rights. Plus their overrun by immigrants now.

The only real option is to hold up where you are.

Your overly emotional reaction to someone's choice not to fight in but instead flee a conflict which they would likely die in is misplaced. Maybe if the country or soil meant something it would be one thing, but a country that is run by people actively trying to enslave you and destroy your loved ones is not worth dying for. Cope and seethe.

You need a gun to protect yourself regardless of what’s going on. I was just saying you’re stupid for not being willing to stand up to a few rogue recruitment officers but you’re considering packing up and moving to a country full of browns who want to kill you.

Fucking Boomers. Go lurk a Ukraine war thread and tell me it's not a real thing. You think the US is somehow immune to bullshit kicking off? I'm moving the goalposts? You're the one ignoring the initial, arguably complex, question about the valuability of PMs in a war zone by hand waving it away as a non-topic and instead just suggesting hurr durr guns are all that matters.

Your question that I directly responded to was about leaving the country. I never even mentioned PMs. This is what I mean by moving the goalposts. You're just looking for a fight here.

Hope no one will post for the billionth time the bosnian survival larp made by a texan kek.
Ofc it happened countless times through history, but it would be interesting to read about recent iterations, in a full fiatbux world, rather than when G&S were de facto money.

I remember there were many accounts of such situations from viets fleeing the war and cambodians fleeing the Pol Pot's "communist revolution" you can read online. A gold bracelet could get you a plane ticket far from the misery. You'd have to start once again from scratches, but alive. But even if it occured while the world already adopted (((fiat money))), it's a bit outdated.

More recently, i remember reading about occurences from Syria, Lebanon and Libya. But those are nations where finding alternatives solutions to get by are the norm, and it may not apply in our situations, where we can consider ourselves entangled in "formely known 1st world nations", with top class civilians' tracking & bureaucracy and everything else falling apart. At least in arab nations, it's easy to "oil up the machinery" by greasing some paws for cheap (they even have a word for this institutionalized corruption : the baksheesh), but over here corruption is mostly availible for the richfags. Poorfags can't enjoy it, partly because everything is informatized and automatically triple checked via centralized databases. And partly because our officials are well fed by the government and don't need any extras.

Anyway this is a very interesting question, one we may have to figure out the answer by ourselves, the hard way. It would be funny to try to larp differents scenarii, with differents budgets and goals to achieve. All i'm sure of, is it's quite easy for a brown to seek refuge in western nations. But the other way around is vastly different.
How many shitholes do anons believe will accept whites if we are the ones fleeing war-torn nations?

>How many shitholes do anons believe will accept whites if we are the ones fleeing war-torn nations?
If it ever reached that point, I would suspect the natural dynamic of the global situation would dictate some shitholes better than others iykwim. I don't think Europe will ever truly fall. It may ebb and flow, but it's ultimately White soil. Parts of America otoh are a different story. It's vast enough that a multitude of places could act as a refuge for those fleeing conflict. >I'll know for certain in a few weeks
It's been fun stacking PMs but now I'll have to stack all the cash I can get my hands on and keep it for mortgage and bill payments if I do get laid off. I'm running under the assumption that I will, and honestly I'm kind of excited to see what on the horizon.
I'm happy with my existing stack. I'll at least take more time to post more and new OC pics of my existing numismatics, no new purchases for at least a few months.
Who knows, maybe I'll get a better paying job at the end of all this? I'm kind of excited :)

You have the right attitude to make it.

I've had to dip into my stack a few times over the years (cancer, job loss, etc.) to make mortgage payments, so I get it. I was able to offload my stack to a local coin shop that paid a little over spot for my generics. It was a little scary and takes timing and some kind of moral standard in the buyer that I understand isn't found in many LCS owners, so I totally understand hoarding cash in the mean time since you already have a decent stack.

Godspeed, fren. I hope your job isn't cut, but I know you'll be fine regardless.

For the new lurkers, I'm a poorfag. Even if you can only set aside 10% of your income to precious metals, given enough time, the size of your stack could be the reason your family survives the few hard years we all have ahead of us.

Not remotely, though I guess it entirely depends on your cost of living. If you have a 3k mortgage and a slew of bills, then it might get a little shitty for a while with no income. If you're not currently living as a 1%er, then you'll be able to last a several months before dipping into your metals or whoring yourself out on the street. Nice work.

How is gold a viable alternative to fiat currency when pm is still speculative? :[] genuine question

>> No.58968703

>>58968679
It's not an alternative, it's an inevitable solution because every fiat currency in history has gone to zero without exception. When an unbacked currency collapses, people will flock to a system that doesn't operate on trust (of the government issuing it). Then the cycle repeats and as trust is regained, the currency starts getting abused again. This has been happening for thousands of years.

Don't worry about gold for now, 7oz is a fantastic start and the ratio's not in your favor, silver's the one that's undervalued at the moment.

If you want to be set for life, try to get around 20oz of silver per year of life per person; bump that to 40-60 for upper-middle class lifestyle. This is approximated from historical values from societies that actually used silver (Roman, especially, and the 20oz is from Venezuela's recent hyperinflation, but also Venezuela living standards so ymmv), but you'd have opportunity to make each ounce go further if you use it to acquire physical goods (especially land) during hyperinflation.

$2000 is not a 30 year investment. You’re getting ripped off buying precious metals unless you’re sourcing them directly from African slave mines just like the kikes do. Silver has never been a good investment. What’s happening is that there are kikes with pallets of silver they mined when they were kiking in Africa. You’re literally buying bags.

It's my favorite one too, like most frens here i bet. It's pretty clownish -in a nightmarish way- to think the judeo-tyranny is so smothering, so all-powerful, even a design vaguely related to a coin 99.99% of ppl aren't aware even existed 90 years ago is enough to make companies shit their pants to the point they'd rather lose money than cast a design they think might potentially piss off a random kike if discovered. Even though their company's name isn't mentioned anywhere on the round and there is nothing illegal nor offensing displayed.

Imagine the level of absolute control of the minds and souls an organization must have to reach this level of Voldemort honkery in a society where everybody pretend said organization are the most fragile victims ever... Can't figure out if I'm playing 4D chess here or not.

I can buy sovereigns for £465, being 7.98g/0.917 purity which comes to 0.235 oz of gold. 4 of these come out as £1,860 and 0.941 oz, or £1976.44 for 1 oz of gold. Not that I'd ever sell them, but they'd also be CGT free.
Meanwhile Chards sell CGT 1 oz for £1,981.88 (0.75% with their current sale) or £2,003.77 for non-CGT coins.

It's not a huge amount, but am I therefore saving money by buying sovereigns? Am I fucking up by not going for 1 oz coins? Apart from a few special years I wanted to collect, all the sovereigns are BU and the shop is very reputable (been in the business 50+ years, has all the necessary memberships and I've verified all the coins I've bought so far).

I was thinking of buying about 20 sovereigns as I've got about £10k to spend.

why do people stack silver? you'd have got get a small suitcase full of it if you want to have a reasonable SHTF stack at these prices ... right? is it cause people think it's undervalued and will appreciate? is it just cause it's accessible since it's comparatively cheap?

I think there was a story a couple of years ago about some guy who got caught smuggling gold bars up his ass.

I just looked it up
Apparently it happens all the time

Why don't you sell your gold first? Gold has tighter spreads so you should get a better deal.

I assume you're a euroanon? I found a shop in Austria that was willing to help me get them to the US, but it was a struggle to find the place.

i'm surprised you'd find that in austria or germany. it's not necessarily illegal but it's flying pretty close to the sun.

The owner seems to be the based kind of boomer who just likes history and coins.

The one I'm really having trouble finding is the USSR 50 Kopeks 1924-1927, none of the shops I can find in the former USSR ship internationally.

It is, but I should've specified I'm trying to get a lot/bulk to be efficient with shipping/import costs - that's still a good find, but it's just the 1 coin, looks like there are 3 total on the site atm.

I got 50 of the 5 Reichsmarks from the place I found, I was hoping to find something like that, I have a bunch of IRL friends I've been getting into silver and they were interested in getting some if I could find a place.

Yeah they show up sometimes on eBay, if I can find even 10 somewhere I'll probably get those.

Let's be honest anon. I'm assuming you're in the US but if it goes to hell here it's going to hell everywhere and you will absolutely not be getting out of the country on a plane

>Russia and China aren't buying shitloads of gold to just sit on it
That's exactly what they're planning to do. They've learned well from the West:
1. Buy up all the metals.
2. Make a fiat currency based on the metals.
3. Convince the rest of the world to only use your fiat that only you can print infinitely.
4. Break connection between metals and fiat.
5. Profit forever.

I wasn’t planning to sell the whole stack. Most likely just 200 oz of silver to get me through the next couple months. I’ve been unemployed for nearly 8 months now. Unfortunately it’s either this or I dip into my IRA. I’ve also got a firearm collection I could liquidate but that’s a lot more time consuming. Time for me to start taking job hunting seriously.

when gold is 10k per once you will regret buying what you can over time.

Central banks world wide are hording gold. The great reset is a matter of time. I mean you can always buy some silver. But i personally am not a fan.

Gold confiscation is the norm, not the aberration tho.

I'm not insinuating not to aquire gold, I am asserting when, not if it gets bad, you won't want to/ be able to spend it as easily especially if the government is looking for it.
