Their 6 launch partners along with the different tabs on their ecosystem page. Doubt they would add these tabs without having projects already in mind for them.

Bad news. Sony is like the grim reaper of industries. Killed video games for multiple decades. They get into industries they hate to destroy them from within and make them all dependent on proprietary Sony bullshit.

>decentralization
let's not pretend this is for the benefit of gamers. there is nothing decentralized about games where the game developer is the sole issuer of game assets and the game developer is responsible for validating the game state. multiplayer games, as you know, are full of bots, and the only way to 100% prevent someone from cheating is by strapping them to a chair in your gaming facility and watching them play the game on a machine your company built. This is assuming the company itself is not corrupt and does not self-deal by minting assets to itself under the disguise of fake players. the biggest "benefit" I can see is narrative-riding to farm money from idiots. the other benefit, which borders on practical, maybe, is the idea that Sony itself can lower the cost of payment processing by validating purchases on its L2 and bridging the ETH, USDC, or whatever to somewhere it can be sold.

I'm talking about fake/botted gameplay sessions, since the developer is the one with the authority to call VRF in the first place.
>>58895527
Smart contracts ideally are ownerless and their logic is what validates whether something is authentic. This is impossible for something like a multiplayer game, where the game developer must determine whether a game session was authentic and then tell the smart contract to do something.

Sony Owns playstation and has data from their servers so they can know via DECO when you bought a skin on your playstation account, or when you powered your playstation on to play online games. The game dev is irrelevant in this scenario I feel like.

They could onboard a lot of people onto this chain with spiderman beyond the spiderverse. ONIONS is a tech conglomerate that follows trends and tries to create offerings.
If you read their memo they said they're going for a general purpose chain, make it go mainstream and develop tooling.

Expect Samsung to follow suit just because they can't afford to be bested by Glorious Nippon.

Retard gamers will buy the news and blow their wads on Sony PS + and less on LINK. LINK will profit more off Sony than your typical LINK brokefag. It's a win-win for Sony and Sergey. If shit doesn't work, they can both claim the collab as a write-off like Sony usually does. They literally get tax credits from the government to create chink propaganda from debt we will always owe to the chinks. It's quite genius actually and it might net me an extra linkie or two LMAO

Eventually they will, steam is centralized. Placing items on the blockchain is better since everyone in the world agrees you own it (decentralization) and it is one of the valid use cases of NFTs. Seethe and cope more though, blockchain and crypto are here to stay just like the Internet. ETFs already solidified it.
