Anyone thought about buying copper?

Silver sounds good but if the price goes up then copper is the next substitute. Seems like it would be easier to sell afterwards because copper thieves are apparently everywhere. They wouldn't be a thing if it couldn't be easily sold so I'm thinking of buying both silver and copper.

I've been wanting to learn to make jewelry though so I might be biased, copper jewelry seems cheaper to practice with than silver.

It's just above $4/lb. Was $5/lb a few months ago.
You can acquire it as scrap from wherever you can scrounge (free to very cheap), as coins (pennies are currently worth 2.7 cents each), or as stamped bullion (at least $12/lb). So how you acquire it and why are questions you need to ask yourself.

I would leave whatever I have as-is, and concentrate only on new stuff. Nothing new would be jewelry. It would all be bullion stamped with weight and purity, or true coinage.
As for metal, I wish I had started earlier buying gold and kept buying more of it, though I'm happy with the silver I have.
I am now buying gold only as coin bullion - pic related.

Thanks for the link. I ain't dumping it, I'll refine it if I ever need to, it's inherited so regardless it's free gold, 5.1 oz after refining estimate so that's 12k I inherited without doing anything.

I'll have to stick to fractionals for a while like a pleb but I'm going to get only coins from here on out aside from the occasional pleasure purchase like a 23k anchor chain.
>>58802718
Yeah going forward for my actual portfolio I'll only do coins/bars. But still, it's 5 ounces of pure gold in this massive pile I have so it's still GOLD, y'know? I want a 23 or 24k chain because I enjoy being able to wear it in case of a pinch while traveling but going forward my goal is 5 ounces in coins and 200 ounces in silver.

Hello guys, I started working almost 4 years ago and just now am starting to have enough savings that I need to start thinking of a better way to store them. I distrust banks, paper money, stocks and other Jew tricks. Naturally I come to the conclusion of stacking precious metals, namely silver since I’m still a small fry. The problem is that I live in Eastern Europe (Romania) and any somewhat trusted seller I find sells ounces (whether bullion or coin) at around 47-49 dollars which seems to be a ridiculous premium. The other option would be to buy jewelry from gypsies, but the chances of getting scammed are immense, and the price is still nowhere near 25 dollars per ounce. What should I do? Currently my plan is to save up some more and drive to Western Europe to buy a respectable amount so it’s worth the travel cost. Any ideas welcome.

Platin is a bit to instabil compared to gold and silver which have been gradually rising in prices since the last 20 years while platin reaches insane peaks and lows

When a banks' portfolio implodes due to interest rates rising, they can actually be underwater on paper. However the trick is that their all own gold and that asset will simply be revalued to offset any "paper losses" they experience. This is the entire lynchpin of the modern financial economy. Deferring consumption and having it stored as "credit" basically means that no one has any surplus and that for the sake of liquidity all capital is held in a "slush fund" that banks and the rich can slurp from freely.
Taking physical possession is key because the only component that makes the system work is the U.S. Treasury market which puts the tax payer as the fall-guy. So basically toxic IOUs are the literal shit being squeezes out of this system and all of us end up owning it via proxy such as 401ks, pensions, social security, and insurance funds and our banks.
The cash is long long gone and all that is left is credit. Credit will unwind in a violent game of musical chairs and dollar-dilution and an ultimate revaluation of commodities will be the end game. Will it happen in 1 year? 3 years? 15? No one fucking knows. It all depends on central banks and international cooperation to maintain trade using Treasuries as a form of international reserves.

For national security purposes, privately held stores of precious metals such as vaults will probably just get snatched up by the Feds. For all intents and purposes, it may be a reasonable risk for billionaires who can afford to stash metals all over the world. But for the plebs these things are probably just "fractional reserve" stores of metals that have some degree of bogus book keeping. And when the time comes and shit is hitting the fan, good luck trying to talk to the owners of the vault to give you your money back. They'll just declare bankruptcy along with everyone is and there won't be a chance in hell for the court to get around to upholding your claim.

Is that by weight or USD price? If price my GSR is ~1:1.5 at the moment. 1:133 is weight.

Cup & handle is just market maker doing price discovery on the initial peak and shorts getting fucked in the ass on the handle. If it were self-fulfilling prophecy computers would use patterns to style on humans, but they can't because patterns are just artefacts of underlying market mechanics. They can be spoofed in single instances at great expense, but it's not profitable to do that a lot.

There are options, most of them just aren't good.

Not gonna happen. The price stays mostly the same unless you get lots of physical.
