If RC dilutes again I’m literally selling any share that isn’t long term capital gains tax applicable. Someone earlier in the thread asked something like, if you look back three years ago, and then look at your life now, how did things go? For me they didn’t go well at all. And it’s frustrating knowing I could’ve chosen short term profits over long term holding and I would have been better off.
Without GME, I will never escape poverty. I have waited three years, and it is hard not to blame RC for the current crab. The stock is out of the wedge, yet it seems just frozen, like no one knows what to do.
We are all right about GameStop. The short thesis is dead. It’s a good company now. Yet everyday the proof that we are right gets delayed by Wall Street and it’s not fair.
It was really trying to hold these last two months. I could’ve sold, but instead I bought more, as I’ve always done. Until July 19th or whatever is my last FTD cycle.
If GME gets fucked with and wrongfully stopped once more, and if RC dilutes GME between now and then, then I’m giving up. I’ll always hold some back up stack, but I can’t afford, literally, to hold GME the way I have been.

This run up was fake and gay (and even predicted by others) and NOT caused by DFV, it was starting before he came back.
He must have though it was a possibility for more dilution after the first offering. He probably didn't think they could do it so fast. Had they not diluted he probably could have sold his options for more, allowing him to exercise for more shares than he ended up at, but they still would be shorting the price down like they are now no matter what happened.

People might not have realized at the time in what possible ways Gamestop might exercise that right, or forgotten about it, but this wasn't really anything to be surprised about.

Bros, I have a potentially very stupid question about calls. I bought some $50 calls expiring today (6/21) for really cheap just to see how it all works in Schwab. Obviously, they aren't worth much, and of the $116.11 cost basis, it says I've lost $111.61. My understanding is you can "sell to close" your position, meaning you're selling calls that you previously bought. When I do that, it says I would be selling it for $0, which, not too far out from the truth, but where are the $5 going? Underneath the "price" column in Schwab, it says $0.005, and I have 10 contracts, which I assume when you add on the 100 shares per contract figure, adds up to the $5 missing. Is that just the premium I can't get back?

And, hypothetically, if I were to have a profitable call position right now, with it being Friday, what would happen if I just didn't do anything to them? I don't exercise, so I don't get the shares, and I never "sell to close", so I imagine I wouldn't get the profit either. I would imagine your broker would sell for you, but how does that work if the option expires that day? What good are my options if their expiry is already here? Who would want that/what demand is there?

Sorry if these don't make sense, I just really want to get more into options, but don't want to be an idiot about it and waste money on nonsense.

There's been no info about him buying as far as I know and obviously his own position weaking is generally not great, though I don't know the numbers enough to know if it's really significant.

To me a large point of the movement to hold Gamestop, especially DRS, is to alleviate some of that risk for them. If hedgefuck crony shareholders come out to try and inject themselves with stuff like the diversity bullshit then Gamestop can count on there being a significant number of shareholders that have their back on that.
They can make different choices than if they were a company that had to make every move with the assumption that they're likely to end up with a knife in their back.
As long as it is reasonable to say that Ryan is not going to do anything to fuck himself over then the dilution may be bad optics, but they should be worth something.

I just hope that the worth isn't just being able to sit around for some favorable acquisition that is going to end up taking five years to come around.

DFV made the point himself in his last appearance. If one already thinks Ryan is stupid or in it for himself then obviously that's how you're going to interpret the dilutions.
