I only slurp the big dips. I don't sell (yet) will do so EOY/2025 depending on if we get a parabolic move on alts. Swinging is fine if youve got the stomach for it but ive been burned so many times this way I prefer accumulating the lows

10 I rarely buy individual assets, and only when I'm truly convinced will consistently go up over the long run.
20 I hold for a very long time, because I have a wildly unrealistic price target set.
30 When the price target is reached, I sell half, and I set another silly price target.
40 GOTO 30

I've done this with BTC and TSLA so far. All my other asset purchases have been ETFs and mutual funds.
So far I've only sold half once for each of them, although I suspect I'll get another pass at BTC in a few years.
TSLA, I don't know. Depending on how that evolves, I might just give up on it and take my profits, but we're not there yet.

Why hold on Tesla? It seems like their best days are long behind them. The pivot to robo taxis is as far away from reality as reliable FSD, the staff cuts (in particular axing the team behind creating the supercharging network) seems short sighted, competition from China, Elon becoming more retarded every single day.

Feels like a stock that has nowhere to go but down.

Honestly? Because my long term plan was to hold, and it still is.
I agree Elon's erratic behavior is a growing source of concern, compounded by Tesla's board willingness to enable it.
I think I'm still holding on to the potential of what it could be, but I suppose I'm only a few Elonisms away from cutting my losses.

When the revenue starts going down or their cash flow starts looking weak I sell, when the fair value is below 30% and their finance are healthy I buy.
