It's mixed. It can be bad because if a lot of the volume was RK selling his calls, hedgies don't have to hedge their sold calls via buying a lot of GME shares, running the price up.
Most call options do not get exercised and hedgies usually expect them to expire worthless so they can profit off of the premium. It all depends on how many of these calls get exercised, and how many shares hedgies need to purchase in order to meet their contractual obligations.
