I took a look at some of the options chains available on GME while drinking some prosecco for breakfast this morning. It was honestly laughable how little price discovery is involved even with the exceedingly low expectations I had of it.

I see what you mean now. I would still not worry about it. Keep in mind that they have to purchase the calls, so it isn't 47.5 to break even it is like 48 or close to it. and looking at the chart there is some heavy resistance on 47. Not saying it can't happen but unless some positive news otherwise it is unlikely. Even if it does you should still be positive on the stock, I hope.

The 40s are the real killer here. Depending on when they bought the 40s you might just have to bite your tongue and let them exercise. Lets go case by case.

Worst case it reaches 48+,
so 47.5 Exercise * 27 = $128,250 - 129,600 = -$1,350,
and 40 Exercise *33 = $132,000 - $158,400 = -$26,400,

you are looking at missing out on 27,750, total money from the calls is $260,250,

if you didn't have the 60 buys @ 40. But since you have them 40*60*100 = $240,000 + $38,580 (assuming current buy price) = $278,580,

would make your current breakeven $46.43. So still less than 48 on the worst case. 48*6000 = $288,000.

Ok but moving on,
Middle case is 40s get to exercise at what I believe is going to be EOD at about 45.80.

40 *33 * 100 = 132,000
45.8 * 33 * 100 = 151,140
= missing out on -19,140

and the 60 buys @ 40, lets just cover your sell.

6.43 * 100 * 33 = 21,219

21,219 + 132,000 = 153,219

total loss of 2,079.

Objectively false.
High inflation means high rates -> High rates mean strong dollars. You're conflating inflation with currency strength/value. The internal value of a currency, that is to say, the value of a currency against itself IS NOT the same as the value of a currency against other currencies.
When there is inflation, the value declines because prices rise. When a currency weakens/strengthen, this is due to relative supply/demand against other currencies. Every currency transaction is a buying of one currency (strengthening it) and a selling of another (weakening it). Inflation has an influence, but it isn't necessarily proportional. If, for example, other countries are less stable or have similar inflation, then US inflation might not weaken the dollar. For example, USD is stronger against EUR since 2021 when inflation picked up. Same against GBP.
All this to demonstrate that, despite inflation heating up, the dollar has strengthened CONTRARY to your statement "inflation cooling = strong dollars." In fact, your second statement "strong dollars = no need to buy stocks to beat inflation" again betrays your conflation of currency strength with inflation. The strength of the dollar on an international market doesn't mean you gain value within the US market. You can have a strong dollar, gain no value domestically, and thus need to buy stocks to gain value anyway. I'm not saying inflation cooling is necessarily good for stocks (although I think lowering rates will loosen borrowing standards and weaken the dollar, causing some stimulus), but that your framework is false.

Started investing 15 months ago, I now have 56k€ in an S&P500 ETF, 10k of that is from growth.
I chose an ETF that is Euro hedged because I got scared of currency fluctuations, but now I see that the non Euro hedged Version of the same ETF has performed significantly better and I feel stupid.
Should I change my monthly contributions to the non Euro hedged ETF?

I also want to start investing for my nephew, I already convinced my family that he doesn't need ~500€ worth of presents twice a year and that we should rather just invest 200€ of that money into an ETF, like I did. It's peanuts, but that should give him enough money to pay for his driving license and his first car at 18, or he can keep investing in it. I was thinking MSCI world, and again I'm drawn toward Euro hedged ETFs, even though I know it's stupid.

basically its an ETF that sells covered call options of the underlying at bullish strikes and holds some t-notes/bills for liquidity. it pays out the difference in premium between the long options and puts that it holds IIRC.
some downsides - only declares monthly dividend payout a few days before the record date, so if you dont want to buy the top the best time to buy is the ex date or close to it and hold for a month otherwise you baghold the dividend payout amount until the NAV recovers.
the better NVDA performs, the higher the NVDY correlated stock price and higher % chance at a high monthly payout.

>>58648615
its not that bad, if he sold his 24k in crypto he could use the 24k + margin to take a position in NVDY (about 1570 shares). Then if it has another high payout over $2k, reinvest the payout + margin back into NVDY to build up a bigger stack. I've been doing it the past few months with success.

If I buy S M H ETF am I buy infrastructure on AI (as in, datacenters, etc) or only manufacturers of GPU's, chips, factories etc? or does it also include datacenters?

Im considering a big investment (over 1 million) in AI infrastructures.

Im considering being low risk (buying the S M H index) or going for individual stocks in search of massive alpha.

I was looking at some of the Bitcoin miners that have massive infrastructure built that are pivoting to AI and their stocks are flying.

The demand for AI imo is not priced in. Even for silly things like animating a picture of a meme, or creating music, etc, people love that, and it just keeps getting better.

This requires a limited in amount resource: infraestructure.

My fear? of course a possible recession. But their infrastructure is already built, they just have to turn on the machines for AI. The demand for AI will be there. Even if people are broke, demand for creative stufff, or entertainment, will still be there and it's easy to access.

If anyone has studied this, what is on your bag and why? Convince me that this is and isn't a good idea beyond muhhhhhhhh nvidia chart bubble.

they have heaps of debt and have spent years playing catch up and usually under deliver or their latest tech becomes short lives because of competitors. I heard rumours about NVDIA using their facilities to help produce since Intel are one of the main companies in this sector that own their own factories. Upside is they're also heavily backed by US government and get a bunch of other subs from other governments (Israel being one of them)

Read the press release the new AI chip doesn't sound like it's more for commercial use rather than recreational. I was going to do $40 call options to expire December 20th but might just do a couple calls for July next year @40 and $50. How tf is Intel down 57% since dotcom? I can't believe it.
Since I was a kid, all I knew was Pentium computers were kickass. You wanted to run Quake 3, you wanted to buy the latest Pentium 3, etc. Everything was Intel. With all these products, how the fuck did they fail for the shareholders? chart looks like I don't know what im looking at. Did they dillute a lot? Yes AMD started dominating but much later on. I have a 3950X which is a beast, but before that, I always had Intel. I remember AMD was seen like Pepsi vs Inteel which was Coke, the real deal. It was seen like a cheaper version. So what went wrong there. And can they come back and hit ATH? weren't they working for the fucking NSA and shit? how aren't they pumping harder.

basically a bunch of things
Poor management from the inside/workplace issues leading to poor operation decisions over time, They didn't continue with Apple awhile ago so now Apple use competitor for their chips and their fabs have high cost which usually run at a loss but are located in America. Investors are also worried about China entering the processor market or rising tension with Taiwan (Which is + for Intel because of main competitor TSMC)

There are probably safer investments out there but I can't see you losing if you invest and hold for a few years whilst they get their financials better, their management has already gotten much better and has better workplace ratings. Also another thing which is overlooked is Nvidia might use their fabs for packaging and chips because of the whole Russia/China collab and USA getting stricter with trade secrets (Since Intel is heavy backed by.. jews?)

If you want to chat elsewhere give me TG and I'll hit you up

poor management decisions and trying to do too much with too little. lots of other chip designers in the 2000s outsourced the fabrication process to tsmc or samsung who had a better economy of scale and were better equiped to pump out 7nm chips, and even smaller chips as they could upgrade their plant faster, while intel struggled to catch up. they were also quite late to the mobile/tablet market, and basically never really established a foothold. they sort of ended up being like decent at everything but good at nothing.

The stock was good for a while ngl but no government owned companies are to get new projects (explicitly written on the bill), private enterprises on the other hand are fully backed. Specifics like allowing to drill on private land by any company that pays big gov enough makes me think argies are fucking mental.

But is good news for big oil companies going there, maybe wait until next year to even think on that country again? Not sure when they enforce the law is all too fresh but when 1 of them argies actually fucking read the thing I expect mayhem.

Intel discrete GPUs failed because they refused to spend money on drivers. Their Windows DX backend was literally dxvk, and the Linux drivers didn't even have good enough Vulkan to run dxvk. GPGPU was even more broken than AMD, which is really saying something. They're still the biggest PC GPU vendor though. Qualcomm or AMD might muscle them out eventually. nVidia would have to figure out how to make a CPU first to even try.
