I've been reading and trying to understand actually whats going since Kitty didn't do whatever the heck he was supposed to do the other day.

I think i understand it as, he was trying to cover the idea that he isn't specifically in control of any sort of manipulating force, and maybe expose manipulation by more powerful people to prevent him from doing so.

Seemingly internally, GME felt the need to undercut the event, by diluting the stock.
I can understand they have no direct incentive to attack shorts, and they get free cash.
But also they could have easily waited on the announcement.


The short term thesis was the fun of punishing the shorts, which isn't going to happen, because GME either internally is corrupted by some market manipulators, or they sincerely believe in taking the cash by diluting the stock.
The long thesis on Gamestop doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, because obviously digital distribution.
I game and I occasionally like the feeling of physically owning a game, but this is increasingly less convenient.

This is actually true. If there are multiples of the stock outstanding then basically GME is vampirically linked to the shorts and we can basically steal their money by issuing dividends to ourselves. No one ever thought they would be naked shorting a stock strong enough to issue dividends. I think they would implode very quickly once we start doing this. Because even tiny $0.25 dividend per share could cost the shorts multiples of this amount.
And to be quite honest, I have enough shares of GME that if they ever started paying dividends I will be doing quite well.
I never even considered that aside from MOASS, and all of the exciting growth and M&A, even a simple little quarter per share will be a cute little chunk of pocket change.

RK originally was a value investor, also enjoyed investing as a hobby/ way to make some side cash. Why is it so important to raise this money right now? My main theory is that just with COH alone after these dilutions, GME will have a value of $10/share. Just with their raw cash. The best part is, technically, he is right. Shorts have entered into a position that they, in theory, cannot exit. Yes this sounds like it should be impossible because how can that happen, but it can only happen because hedgies have done something equally impossible and sold more shares than exist. Many people find this sort of thing to be simply unrealistic, and it should be. Literally any investment is subject to wider market forces. 401k's can legally be wiped out from this, bank funds can be wiped from this, and your home value can plummet as a result of this. American people have liquidity, but they're largely in debt as a result. If you have $5,000 in your bank, and $10,000 in debt, you literally do not own any money.

All the MOASS does is make people realize that their vehicles of worth are only supported by a self-fulfilling market based on fraud, and when you lay it out for them they actually do not "own" anything, and worse is that they are overleveraged. It's this threat to their safety and status quo that makes them deny it. And when MOASS hits and they're poor, they'll be angry. Then they'll bargain, likely with government, to bail them out or stop the run. Then depression sets in from their dismal financial state. Lastly, they'll accept (or be distracted) from their status as forever poor, living in a new financial system, for better or worse in their case.
