>go electric because its environmentally more friendly than gas cars
>don't pay gas tax that federal and states rely on to pay roads and other shit
>also generally more heavier than gas cars which means more road maintenance
>be California and start panicking and introduce a a 3 cent per mile tax pilot program

Is this a good solution /biz/? Texas raise electric registration fees as their response to electric vehicles.

My state has higher registration too for hybrids and evs (I have a plug in hybrid)

It's kinda gay but I barely fill up gas anymore

Also semis and the weather fuck the roads up 100x more than if everyone drove an EV sedan

when will all of us learn that everybody should just pay a 10% consumer tax which would pay for everything instead of nickle and diming income five times and then still don't get shit done. democracy doesn't work financially speaking.

I want to say at this point that EVs are a non starter and a meme. Hybrids are superior. With an EV, your energy is still being generated, but you now have a middleman generating it. Then it's transported and stored inefficiently in a very expensive and heavy battery. The total cost to produce and energize ironically becomes far higher than a normal gas vehicle.

Enter the hybrid, which simultaneously creates its own energy while using cheap gas, with a reasonable battery and higher reliability than gas or electric vehicles. Toyota literally solved the car problem back with the Prius and we never leaned into it hard enough.

>Hybrids
does anybody remember "LNG" hybrids. No, for a reason.
Oil refined to gasoline has an unbeatable calorific value. Its irrational to put two engines in a car, where one is just inferior to the other

How about dump the tax altogether? Oh right, scratch a climate cultist and a tankie bleeds.

California actually has the surplus to pay for this though. Other states like Texas will need to add something

>> No.58520667

Nah. As I just said, the Prius solved everything. It's been done. It's incredibly reliable and efficient. There should be a whole line: compact, sedan, SUV/wagon, based off of its model and that literally covers everything we need, but people are too stupid to understand what a sweet spot is.

>marketing
nigger, there is no rationality to buy anything else but a gas powered car. The only rational reason to not only focus on gasoline powered cars is ideology and the socialization of capital risk, socialism, where a bunch of communists subsidize valueless crap to generate private profits for scammers

>forced to buy car to use in car based society

>forced to pay for fuel which is heavily taxed for road maintenance and climate now
>forced to pay for repairs
how is an industry that provides a product forced local governments to pay for the upkeep required to use their product? ie roads.
