I think the volume was necessary to roll or recalibrate a large short position. I think that a retail pump was needed to be the alibi for this higher than average volume so that “reasonable locates” could be claimed for those entering new swap positions. I find the timing with DFV coming back very interesting. While it could just be DFV highlighting that they are still fucked and pointing a finger at the strange price action, I hate that his return also gave those manipulating the stock and pumping volume they simply shouldn’t have access to the perfect alibi. Last week 30M shares expired ITM, and at the 35 strike price we see 100M shares become ITM (2/3 of all the shares, excluding insiders and DRS).
