Is it worth the extra money to fly business class?

>> No.58477737

Never really looked at the difference in price.

>> No.58477765

Yes. You can get to pick your own film to watch, and have a seat that doubles as a bed. You also get caviar and champagne, and chocolate if you want it. And you have your own private small shower with a complementary Tom Ford cologne. And you don't have to sit next to a fat man snorting while he eats and watches Avengers: Endgame.

>>58477733
No, it's midwit cope for people that don't fly private.

>> No.58477808

Ah. You fly private? Do you charter or own the aircraft?

>> No.58477822

>>58477733
For me no, but I'm slumming it. Like $300 to fly back from Paris to LAX in coach, including my carryon backpack, so it's definitely not worth adding another $1000 to fly business.

Yeah it fucking sucks sitting next to retards for 13 hours in a cramped seat, but I can do just about anything for 13 hours. Last time my seat didn't even have electricity so I was just lucky I had my charged backup battery with me and lots of books on my phone.

Even if bitcoin hit a million bucks I'd find it hard to justify it to myself. $100 an hour just isn't worth it to me. Now, on flixbus I do reserve the seat next to me so I don't sit next to anyone but that's like $4-8/hour for the improvement and that's worth it. Lotta fatties riding the 'flix.

>> No.58477857

it's worth it if the money means afford it no problems. the catering experience is better, no armchair sharing, and as someone mentioned the chairs double as beds (which is a huge deal for me) if you're an irritable person and cant stand economy then it seems like a nice departure from that poor house. please note that i have never flown business class and have no idea wtf im talking about

>>58477784
if im flying from west coast to europe for example, id rather fly first class, get drunk watch a movie and fall asleep in a seat that basically folds out into a bed, than to be in a private plane for so long. flying private is not expensive and can even be cheaper than first class. but some people think all private flights are like being on airforce one. most private flights are in little cessnas that have less space than first class and no flight service

>> No.58477947

>>58477733
Depends on how long the flight is. I don’t think first class is all that useful on a small plane going on a 2hr flight, but I’ll definitely do it for a 10hr international flight.

Business class now is what first class used to be. Old business class is now called premium economy. It's a lot better than regular economy, bigger seat, more elbow space, better meal, bigger screen. Get a real glass to drink from and metal cutlery too.

I think it's worth it on intercontinental flights

>> No.58478173

>>58478144
Premium economy is not worth it on the last flight I looked at. It's basically more about the meal because in terms of leg and shoulder room, it was like 1 extra inch. I'm a lifter so even one extra inch isn't doing shit for my shoulders. I'm going to be crammed in regardless. Leg room never really bothered me. I nearly got suckered into it too for like $150 but glad I did the research it wasn't worth it.

Maybe on other kinds of airplanes it's better but I was on some new airbus variant. If it's boeing I ain't going.

There's nothing like it with a good airline on an overseas trip. They come with cubicle walls you can close and a reclining bed. I literally kicked back and gooned to BBC porn for like 9 of the 12 hours on my last O'Hare to Tokyo trip.

For long flights, yes, it's significantly nicer. If you've got back problems, or a bit of claustrophobia, or general flying anxiety, it all gets a little better.
But unless you're cleverly using credit card points or miles, or your employer buys you the ticket, it's only affordable if you're already upper middle class.
Private jets are quite a bit more expensive, and that's especially true for oceanic flights, and probably won't make any financial sense unless you're already well into 8 figs, preferably 9.

If it was only $150 more it was probably domestic, which is generally a tier below intercontinental in terms of space. Like domestic economy is even worse than intercontinental economy in terms of space. Domestic first generally wont have fold down seats but intercontinental business will etc.

Names vary by airline too, usually best to just google the aircraft type for the airline in question and see what it actually looks like. Most have seat maps so you can see the layout per type

I don't know if it counts but last week thanks to conan pumping i decided to treat myself to a business class flight to france (to an all inclusive 5 stars hotel for a 5 days vacation), i wore my most expensive suit and on the way back from france a woman that was a solid 10 just flat out told me i was sexy before going to her own seat, i know its not much but i will carry that compliment for the rest of my life.
