You don't really know that though. If you're talking bitcoin it hasn't gone down that low since 2022. That's what's both tempting and a pain about BTC. It has just enough history supporting the idea it will reliably keep going up, but also it's still only like 15 years so it's entirely possible this was one really long fad and everyone will eventually get tired of it so it starts increasingly dropping value with time in the long term as a new behavior.
It isn't a business and none of its potential use cases ever really manifested so it's literally just gambling. But with enough of a past pattern to feel pretty solid. And those two conflicting ideas make it real hard to hold BTC and not panic sell it sooner or later.

My total investment in crypto was $3000 in 2020 and I have 500-550k right now + around 150k cashed out. The only time my portfolio dumped so hard I panicked was in 2021 when it went from 80k to 25k in like 3 days but I was much newer and poorer then. There is no huge upside without the risk.

Crypto investing is a constant battle against yourself, you have to control all of those deadly impulses inside you that scream at you constantly that the top is in and we're going down. You have to clench your buttcheecks, seriously hold onto your pinksale launches and realize those profits as soon as possible.
