I have always filtered them because I hate them but lately I wonder if its worth it. I've seen them in excellent locations, well built, and brand new and pretty cheap

nothing wrong with a townhouse if that's either all you can afford or what the neighborhood generally has to offer. Owning a townhouse on the UWS of NYC means you have $5-10MM+ in real estate. Where I live town houses are really just for people who can't afford a full lot and home but there's no shame in that. A house is a house, anon. If you like it, what do you care what it's called?

Townhomes can be pretty nice but the HOA is usually something retarded like $500-$800. That's a big expense on top of a high interest rate mortgage.

I lived in a townhouse, now it's an investment property. About to buy another for investment. They're great because it reduces the desire to do large renovations and they have little maintenance required.
They're superior to an apartment as you have exclusive rights to the land and indirect land ownership.

As more people can't afford homes, the demand for townhouses will increase as they're a great alternative without living in a highrise box.

Better than a condo, but you're usually cramped, close to your neighbors and the hobos in the street depending on the location. If you're in a good location, it can be a great investment property, but I wouldn't live in one. I need a yard for my dog to run and a proper garage.

Don't share walls with people.

All it takes is sharing a wall with one stoner and your place is inhabitable.

It's amazing to think it's entirely constructed of stapled together glue bonded compessed wood shred board. And now literally anyone can own one.

One of my favorite hobbies is blacksmithing but it seems you can't really do it unless you're uber rich and can afford a house, or you are a farmer or something.
No way you can get away with hammering steel all day when people live right next to you.

You drastically overestimate the average salary of a software engineer. Low six figure salary is not a justification for a $1.5 mil property, absolutely terrible idea.

Most people buying these houses are married with spouses of similar income.

That's impossible. 4chan told me that the only successful relationships are where the wife is staying home and not working.

Those are the only successful relationship, and its what many men in the 50s and 60s had while they were able to buy a home despite being the only person making a salary, oh and they didn't have to pay over a million dollars for a tiny townhouse, even in the major metropolitan areas.

And the average couple isn't paying over a million for a townhouse.

Its just shame, mostly. And also sharing that much space with neighbors or whatever its called when someone is mashed up against your living space

I've moved to one and they're pretty cozy, i would tell you to do some recon first, talk to the neighbors (they will be your company for however time you're living there) measure them in a scale of 1 to 10 of douchebaggery, see around town, talk to people, if most of them are selling you're probably early and should buy, that town will be sold to zoomers like you soon and you'll have proper company.
>t. i bought my first house when axie infinity pumped, almost lost everything to the great p2e debacle and im currently waiting on gravity labs to buy a second home
