If any of the inexperienced asking how to buy from the last thread are lurking, I will explain what I have found to work. I am very new to this and so welcome criticism. I’m trying to learn.
I first looked using Coinbase. It said I had to use Coinbase wallet. So I searched for it that way and found it but was seeing >$10 gas fees on swaps for ethereum. I was looking at throwing small amounts of money so having to pay more than I was even sure I wanted to buy for turned me off. Figuring out the Apu is a base coin I went back and bought eth on the base network using my Coinbase wallet. This swap was better. About 47% of purchase price in gas fees. Better but still bad. So I did some research and found that some had better luck using uniswap to do the swap for base tokens. All that to say. Go to uniswap. Swap Apu for eth on base. Connect your wallet with eth on base network and make the swap. I saw gas <$1 on a $25 swap.
That’s what I was hoping to find and it seemed to work.
Hopefully this helps some new frens who just want to wet their toes with a little fun and feel overwhelmed at the learning curve.
