I was thinking about it the other day that ideally the government should mint silver coins to be acceptable payment for all debts/transactions. Other precious metals, while not having a fixed value, can be used as payment in a transaction if both parties agree. It avoids the drawback of having a bimetallism system. Silver is more abundant than gold and therefore allows the money supply to grow.

The undervalued coin risks being taken out of circulation by people who want to capitalize on profit. There was this guy on YT that learned about English numismatics and, historically, the gold coins minted by the English were sold in mainland Europe for more than the face value. Coins like the gold guinea had an odd value of 21 shillings instead of 20 like it was intended, because the gold content would've made it worth more than face.

You'd have to increase legislation to protect a bimetallic system where there are set values.

For most of history, gold, silver, and copper coins have circulated together. The only time it is a problem is when government tries to fix a value on them. It doesn't even have to be government minting the coins. An ounce of silver should trade like an ounce of silver regardless of what is stamped on it. Just impose the Isaac Newton treatment for anyone clipping or debasing.

Almost skipped back from the post office. Today's haul of just under 22oz of silver and around 1oz of gold.
Need to find a better way to take photographs, but also worried there's going to be some sort of silver/gold buyback in the future and it'll be illegal to hold and they'll use these posts to know how much I have. Or I'm just paranoid.

they can still paper down the price you idiot. The US dollar isn't dead yet, it's well on it's way but this isn't something that's going to be overnight, they're going to use everything at their disposal to prevent it.

Anybody telling you a price prediction is merely guessing. You should be relieved that it hasn't breached $30 yet because when silver really starts moving, the economy will be collapsing all around you. Right now the pillars are crumbling and all the signs are there but none of us know for sure how much longer they can keep the scam going.

We have to first accept that the WEF ideology is in control and that the countries on the stage are merely players (actors).
It’s hard to try to frame things outside of the official narrative or say the /pol/ narrative, perhaps the meta narrative is that they are making these moves intentionally and in cooperation with each other. Thinking that really gets peoples goat, because then they don’t really have a side to choose. They are then truly on their own.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with owning krugerands, like you're saying they're still 1 troy OZ of gold and they are completely liquid and trusted by investors the world over. Krugerands are like the grand daddy of AU coins. And yes they're more durable because of the copper.

Whoever doesn't want krugs because they don't like the way it looks that's subjective and a fine opinion. However calling it dirty or polluted gold and suggesting they're not as desired is objectively false. Theres a reason some anon rich people drop a few every year into salvation army cups. a whopping $12 more expensive
this is what you read everyone writing: oh no eagles are so much more expensive

earlier i posted the buy prices of various gold coins, which was pretty pathetic, but has held up over years. unfortunately, no one with half a brain picked up on it, so ill help you retards out:

krugs were -25 less than spot
eagles were +8

this has always held up, you will get less for krugs when you sell them, generally enough to cover the "oh so high" premium you pay upfront.

eagles are more liquid, more desirable, in greater demand, and are always the best choice.

In 1948 during the Chinese Civil War, there was hyperinflation and a general economic collapse in China. As a result people were conducting large transactions with gold bars rather than the worthless Yuan notes. The KMT government tried to control it by introducing a new gold backed currency, the Gold Yuan. But even though it was supposedly pegged to a gold value in China's gold reserves, you couldn't trade gold yuan notes for physical gold. Worse, the government outlawed private ownership of precious metals or foreign currency, and regularly conducted raids on businesses and people's homes searching for and confiscating gold. And this did absolutely nothing to control the inflation, of course.

So why am I bringing this up? Just remember that it could happen here too. Holding physical PM's is nice, but it's not a guarantee that your private property rights will be respected.
