Many of them "know about it," but have invalid, made-up reasons that it's wrong.

I don't know what dividend irrelevance is, but I do think dividends are irrelevant to my interests.

A dividend payout is more stable and resilient compared to the share price isn't it? For example, a stock trades for 100 dollars and pays out a 1 dollar dividend, the stock then crash to 50 dollars...does the payout also crash to 50 cents? Correct me if I am wrong.

Have you ever tried to earn based off dividends? It's extremely rare that dividends are worth it. I think its good to diversify by having a few stocks that pay meaningful dividends, for example att is a decent one since its a stable company, so you can get some dividends then shouldnt risk ever losing on the stock price long term.

What does this mean for shittherium though? Isn't proof of stake basically a retarded little sister version of dividends?
Someone fill me in on what the jews say in their jew books about dividends. Does it guaruntee the price will lose over time when a company strategizes to attract shareholders via dividends?

The people who think dividends matter are the precious metals and commodity midwits

>> No.58343726

The opinion that dividends are irrelevant are generally from people who have never seen structured products in their life. It’s direct liquidity on your investment from one of the largest liquidity providers in the market for your assets, it’s the whole reason bonds are so popular is because you guaranteed get a chunk of money you can structure debt payments around.

why is it better than selling a little bit to cover your debt payments?

Because the market can be far less liquid to handle your sales then the direct liquidity of a cash distribution, you will tank the fucking market trying to sell enough stock to get the amount of cash that you need.

It’s the exact same reason again that OTC and other structured products are so popular, why get slaughtered market buying the ladder when you can just go directly to the entity with all the cash and make a deal?
