So now the gold buyer has instantly lost .7% which again, makes less sense for why they would pay 97%, melt it at 98% knowing they may lose that 1% profit.

I luv me crabs fren, they're so based. The rocks are agates from the Lake Superior region I found walking creeks, they're among the most desirable agates on earth. I sold a bigger one for $800 about 10 years ago.

The chipped edge does no favors but since it left the aesthetically superior octopus intact that's definitely a fair price, I would have bought it for 35 too. If it's government coinage, gift it at face value. ASEs are only a buck. AGEs are fifty. The IRS lets you give $18k per person (so, twice that for two parents) per year without filing paperwork. There's likely analogs for other countries, but anything in non-native currency denominations probably won't qualify for face-value transfer arguments in the eyes of the court.

But if you're planning on needing to prove ownership transfer in front of a court, you'll probably want more paperwork, not less. Same, goldbacks are an interesting concept and I've given several away as gifts to friends and family to help encourage interest in PMs, but the constitutional silver coins and bullion I've gifted are more straightforward and intuitive and have been more effective at awakening new stackers. If the goldback people can overcome the slow gold vapor-deposition production bottleneck and crank out larger denominations that don't carry such an onerous premium then maybe they'll be a viable medium of exchange, but for now they're far less practical than pre-64 silver and won't appeal to anyone who isn't autistic and already a stacker/collector.

I've been waiting for a pullback, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen, so I bought.
