What's the point of the various bitcoin forks? Why would anyone hold a worse version of bitcoin

The value of Bitcoin was its use as a means of exchange. That was crippled by the high fees so the fork happened. BTC is a worse version of Bitcoin than BCH.

"memecoins" are criminal operations that launch in high froth, high volume conditions and get pumped by a group of insiders that control most of the supply and manipulate prices to draw in liquidity. now imagine a memecoin launching when no other memecoins exist and persisting for 15 years

One, when they forked they didn't intend on being "worse" versions of bitcoin It just happened to work out that way. Two, the entire history of crypto has not been written yet. Who knows, maybe one of these versions will overtake bitcoin in the future
