I hate battle passes too, I'm the kind of guy that likes to play once a week for an hour or two but that's not enough to complete a battle pass. It's suffering, I don't want to play more.

As much as I agree on the cancer that are battle passes, the reality is they aren't going away, especially with how many live service games are being churned out. The "muh stop buying games vote with your wallet" narrative is bullshit and will never take traction. Most normies have zero problems with paying for convenience or digital skins. Vidya culture and the corporatization of vidya companies for maximum profit has drastically changed in the past two decades.

Some very few games manage to implement them in the least shit way possible, which is the exclusion of FOMO. DRG is one example as their battle passes are free, but Helldivers 2 does it as good as it can possibly be, which it never expires and you can buy it and complete it whenever you want. Halo Infinite also has a similar system I think.

It sucks you have to buy the "content" which in most cases usually isn't, just bullshit skins, but this isn't a problem for anyone who isn't afflicted with FOMO perfectionist syndrome and has to own everything to be happy
