Goddamnit, Why do I also effort post on post300+

Probably no one. A small country like this is easy prey for Wallstreet and for all we know this could be some nefarious scheme for internationalists to steal Zimbabwe's gold.
Zimbabwe needs capital investment in order to increase their exports. Any country attempting to spend their gold to make up for shortfalls in resources that is not paid for in exports will very quickly go broke. If you look at something like Canada's gold holdings you can see that this stuff is manipulated and politically/economically weak counterparties are being looted. Finance Uncut on youtube had a clip of Australia actually having their Gold bars melted down and given all new serial numbers. Given that you can't audit the Fed's gold you better believe ALL of the banks are likely drastically attempting to "spoof" their gold holdings because that is what will ultimately be used to recapitalize the world. It's a complete and total fraud and likely tungsten filled 400oz bars are being stamped deep underground somewhere out of shear desperation.
The paper-ponzi is going to implode and all of the world's leaders will be engaging in all sorts of criminal activity to soften the landing. Or in the case of Canada have already been taken to the chop-shop.

Say I’ve got 500-600 dollars free to spend every month, what should be my buying strategy? Should I just start looking for the cheapest silver I can get? I feel like it’s important to stack from the most well-known mints, so what would be the best rounds to stack that are most liquid? I’m not interested in scrap silver either.

Might want to go for a 9999 fine one just for the added prestige in the big lump, exception being if I see I really cool design on a normal 999 fine one
Also, if you got random stuff you don't like why not just trade it/sell it and get what you like?

I think it is fun to have some variety myself though but I guess you could say 5% of my stack is more a hobby project in collecting, some of those pieces have had higher premiums, nothing crazy though but they look cool

Is it? I havnt bought constitutional silver in a bit, I used to get it for spot or under. I still think it’s the best option for fractional silver hands down
>get much less back than spot if you need to liquidate it despite all the shilling from YouTubers who own coin shops
I’ve had a lot of success with selling shit on reddit when I need to liquidate for cash, I’ve managed to sell for spot plus premium and make the retard pay for shipping lul. The only way I’ve been able to get spot or close to spot from coin stores is by getting friendly with them, but a majority of them won’t give you anything decent, so fuck em
>I’d imagine it’s easier to fake
Quite the opposite, the only scrap silver that really gets counterfeited are Morgan’s and Peace dollars bc they’re mostly sold for numismatic value, not melt price. Why would a counterfeiter go through the effort of faking a coin to sell for $6-8, when they can make a fake bar and sell it for hundreds? If you’re just buying bulk scrap silver, counterfeiting shouldn’t be a major concern

It's pretty surreal knowing the arguments for PMs and seeing the debt-based economy desperately trying to spend it's way out of a deflationary depression as if no one knew what the great depression was. It's almost too obvious that I'm surprised more people don't own PMs. I think the normalcy bias is everything will be a V shaped recovery and a monetary crisis just fixes itself 100% guaranteed. No one needs a manufacturing base or accurate pricing on raw materials. We just need to eat cheeseburgers and slurp down some coca cola to pad corporate profits and everything is going to be A-OK.

I don’t suggest doing that. Much easier to work with pure silver shot. If you want to pour sterling silver you’re better off just adding copper/zinc/whatever to your own silver to make it yourself. Plus, why destroy beautiful American coinage?
As for pouring, I highly suggest investing in an electric furnace. Can be a bit pricey, mine was like $400 when I bought it a few years ago, but they’re super simple plug and plays and work great for pouring things in the 1-20 Oz range. Make sure you preheat your mold with a torch before you pour. And wear gloves and watch out for spalling, I’ve almost burned a hole in my arm before

That's fine. Usually when people refer to "junk" they're talking about 90% minted coinage. What you're talking about is generally referred to as sterling or scrap. I'd recommend a good small ceramic crucible if you don't have one yet, preferably one with a small spout for pouring.

Why can’t people understand that spread is more important than the premium?

I like junk silver and I don’t really care if I get slightly back of spot because I have two lcs that sell at very little above spot, so the spread is minimal. Their spread on generic rounds is wider than on junk. I realize this is on a store by store basis, which is why it is worth asking these guys what their spread is and getting familiar with them.

There might be a buying opportunity coming next month, even so, anything above 20 ounces is "enough" IMO in as much as you have what you need to get past an emergency if things completely crash and get fucked

Perhaps also consider food and ammunition if you lack it, not large quantities but enough food for a week to a month so you don't have to panic when/if SHTF and so you can keep your silver insulated
Best of luck friend

The think people forget is that there is such a thing as a melt value, and it is not the value of the pure silver but the value left of the pure silver minus the work involved getting it out

If you plan to get close to spot on sterling or lower you need to have a lot so that the service fee so to speak gets minimized

Also, it is more tempting for the buyer to give a better deal if they realize they could overall make a lot of money fast as might be the case if you bring volume but is never the case if you show up with a coin or two of random fractional silver mixed with non desirable metals

At this point, there's no reason to buy full ounce gold over fractional right? I mean how do you even trade a $2,000 coin for something? Isn't it better just to have 10 of the 1/10 oz coins instead?

False.
I did the math recently and it's actually cheaper to buy 1 oz of gold at the end of the year than it is to buy a 1/10 every month.

Hi frens,
Two weeks ago i purchased a coin sold as a silver tetradrachm depicting Alexander the Great on ebay. When i received it i felt something was wrong, but i couldn't put my finger on why, and since it was from a numismatic store (they also have a physical location), i dismissed it as being my usual paranoia.

But since i couldn't get it out of my mind, i inspected the coin closely today, and i found out what made me uncomfortable with the coin : it's a filled one! (Only a surface layer of silver and the inside is in copper).

I don't think any filled tetradrachm were minted back in -300 BC, so it's most likely from a later period (med nations used Alexander's figure on coins a century after his death i believe) but i don't know when exactly.

Am i in my right to ask for a return on the seller's dime? The item's description/title didn't say anything about it being filled with copper, it simply was sold as silver. A bit scummy from a pro if he was aware of it...
I should add the seller accept returns during a 14 days window, but i missed it by few hours and it's now the 15th day. But for an item not matching the description the window is open for a month, correct?

From a pro seller i really don't expect them to refuse, i don't think ebay will leave them the option to do so anyway.
Pretty bummed about it, because the price was really good otherwise (and know i understand why). Antique coinage is nice, but it's so much more headhaches and worries compared to let say 18-19thc. silber. You can't even trust the pros wtf..

Paid 60 bux for it. I thought the tiny price was from the coin being holed and beaten up (plus the seller managing to make 2 spelling errors in "tetradrachm"), but there was more to it.

Roman coins' entry prices are much cheaper than greek ones tho. As starter you can dip your toe with a follis, nummus, antoninianus for around 2-3 bux (well it's maybe more in the US, since here it mostly comes from amateur detectorists finding them locally). Just recently i scored 40 roman coins for 15€ so it can be really cheap when it comes to copper ones.

If your budget is a bit higher, you can pick up a nice looking sestercius or a silver denarius back when the silver content was high for around 30 bux.

I'm def not an expert on roman coinage but i'd say those prices are crap, saw those coins sell over here for 1/3rd of apmex's pricetags...

About the method i can't tell you because idk what you are looking for, and it's a bit like a personal journey anyway, to find what you want and get the best out of your searches. Everybody have their sauce.

If i were you i'd start with simply lurking on ebay. On the search bar you select "coins & paper money" in the category then click search with nothing in the search bar.
Then on the left will appear a long list of categories. Click "Ancient", then click on "Roman". Republic will be earlier so rarer and more expensive but with neat designs and high purity.
Imperial will land you tons of cheap copper & billon ones.

Once it's done you simply select by "pertinence" or "ending soon" and you scroll down to see if anything catch your eyes.
I made pic rel to guide you a bit on the home page.

They should be the same in terms of purity and weight to whatever have the lowest premium, and since we are talking older coins and not just modern fractional you could also check out British gold sovereign coins like pic related, they have even better price in terms of premium here but they are also heavier and more expensive coins

orly?
I think shipping might fuck me over but if not then it would beat local prices as they take the same premium on the 100 corona as they do a full normal modern ounce and I get it because it is a popular coin but it never felt right to just get slightly less gold for the same premium.

My closest to that would be Swedish 1kr coins from the ww2 era, 2.8g silver each but unfortunately a lot less pure at only 40% purity.

The older 1kr coins are better, 6g silver each and 80% pure, but then the value is ofc also more than twice again

Everyone who already ordered and were not charged shipping; an invoice for the shipping costs (11$) will be coming through to your respective emails; and this will have to be done for future purchases until square/weebly decide to wake up and help. A message will also appear to give all information regarding shipping information. I am starting to regret using square. I have to wait another 5 hours before I can get the shipping issue resolved. I have never had a problem like this with other e-commerce sights. Thank you everyone for dealing with the technical issues of this release weekend; I appreciate all of your patience and understanding!

the dies did cost a pretty penny. at break even I wouldn't be able to scale the order. If I cannot produce more I would have to charge even more for the limited run! One thing about shipping USPS to keep in mind is they need an actual warrant to check your packages. UPS and FedEx can dip into your shit just if they feel like it and deem it "undeliverable"
