works if you position size properly and get lucky, which is to say that almost any strategy works if you do that

sell options with a 10% chance to lose for 10% return, do 10 trades. you earn 90% (or whatever you get the idea)

buy options with a 90% to lose, but winner returns 100% gains or whatever. do 10 trades.

basically market is efficiently pricing options.
they promote selling because
1: easier to position size
2: easier to be methodic
3: they want more trades lol
4: buying has a bigger risk of a losing "streak"

sosnoff et all do good research, but they are out to make money
they did some shady manipulation with karen the super trader or some shit back in the day if i remember correctly

Theta doesn't outperform buy and hold. Leveraged theta plays are the some of the worst risk/reward strategies. Also look at the probability on limited risk/limited reward plays like iron condors, credit spreads etc. Lets say you'll need to win 8 out of 10 times to break even. The odds (look at the delta and premium) might only give you a 78% chance of breakeven. Basically shit is priced against you even with the best liquidiity. I'm not getting into volatility skew which makes things more complicated.

the thing about the probability trade like selecting strike by delta is the greek value reflect what the market has priced in at that moment but the values will change immediately afterward, the strikes you choose today will likely be fairly different tomorrow. a 90% PoP could become 70% the following day, if you understand what i mean

>> No.58274230

It works because of the volatility smirk and upwards skew on major indexes. My point is that you'll make more with buy and hold with the same amount of cash. You could sell one cash secured SPY put for 50k. Or buy 50k worth of SPY. The latter will absolutely outperform long term, and that's not even getting into tax implications. If you're selling puts/spreads on margin then you are using leveraging, which creates the worst risk/reward ratio out there. Look at the past alpha/beta. Something like the Covid or 08 crash could wipe your account even with aggressive rolling strategies. While the retard DCA bogelhead comes out perfectly fine.

what do tickers represent? a company? or just simply a meme? something else?
if it represents a company or meme, even, who controls it? how are shares issued?
should there be market makers (anons who are assigned shares and negatively select their holdings?)

That's not even fast food anymore, that's flat out sit down restaurant prices. California is going to implode in the next 20 years. I don't know what happens to that state after that. And a majority of the people there are hell bent on self destruction. Nuclear reactors kinda work. They are an excellent way to build up a grid and provide baseload needs for large cities etc. Natural Gas ones are also good for that, but they are actively being campaigned against and aren't used to their full capacity so no one wants to build out the grid with them. Because too many businesses rely on high energy prices
