Your staked crypto, can you lose it? Is there a chance for it to just disappear or what?

Or does it always return? With the only risk being the volitility of the crypto?

It's been awhile since i was on binance and it's kinda hard to navigate.

But I recall awhile back there was like options to stake and two sections where binance said they insured one or something like that or it was "protected"

Why would it have to be "protected" if there was no chance of loss?

yeah you staked it using the official wallet, right? staking is safe just remember not your keys not your crypto

If you're staking your coins on a 3rd party exchange, then yes, you absolutely can lose it all if the exchange goes bust. That's what happened with FTX, Celsius, h0dlnaut, etc. Not your keys not your coins

Um sorry I'm a bit of a fool when it comes to this.

So I shouldn't do it with the website I should do it with the binance program you download?

As I'm not sure how to stake otherwise not using binance, any info would be appreciated, thanks guys.

I asked this before long ago, garbage answers, this first time I'm using 4chan as it seems people here are actually just not simpleton normie fools.

Seriously, the expertise I can tell you two have, it just looks beautiful to read.

As opposed to the idiot, always confrontational shit I get on reddit no matter what I say.

What are you staking anon?

What do you guys mean, not my keys, not my crypto?

I ofc have to use my crypto right cause I mean? That's my money.

As to keys? I'd just stake an amount? I'm not sure what you guys mean by this.

So the only danger is if the exchange goes bust? or can I just not get a return.

You should read up on private/public key pairs and how crypto works. 3blue1brown on youtube has a good video on btc.
If you are staking on an exchange, the exchange is the one who owns the keys that allow you to transact with the crypto.

Just whatever looks to have the highest yield/time return on binance.

That combine with whatever is the most stable, so one of the big coins that doesn't seem to shift much I'd say.

Perhaps USDT, I believe you can actually stake that too.

But it's been awhile since I checked, I'm really thinking of starting to do ti again, I didn't before because I couldn't get proper info.

Hence why I'm here.

The main risks would be loss due to market movement and loss due to the exchange imploding. If you stake a stablecoin it also has the risk of it depegging.
If you are a whale and just want consistent returns, staking ETH is low-risk. Otherwise there'll be risks involved.
Personally I'd never keep a significant amount of my wealth on an exchange.

>>58270262
I suppose I always knew they technically owned it whilst it was on there.

But you really think I just won't get the return it claims (not considering the crypto volitility)

Just for some arcane reason? seperate of the exchange going bust?

I'll check that out thanks a lot.

So how do you stake it then?

What do you use?

Binance is large and somewhat well-respected so their APR numbers are probably true. Just do some more research and figure out how much risk you are willing to take, good luck anon
>>58270313
If you have less than 32 ETH you can use something like Lido, if you have more than 32 ETH you can stake it directly by running a validator node, both of which let you hold the keys to the coins.

autistic libertarian speech to say that if you dont become an autist like them and only use your crapto exclusively for transctions or to store it in some cold wallet you hide somewhere you can lose it at any moment.

no exchange is going to take away your crypto unless it shits itself and dies like ftx. binance is safe and so is kraken and 99% of them.

the problem is if you are staking and something happens you guaruntee just about no chance of recovery. for example, if you are in the us, you don't know if the feds will decide tomorrow they have a stick up their ass and are going to go to war with binance. its kinda like having a CD in a foreign bank with no insurance. theres probably not going to be an issue, but by using an exchange you are exposed to problems you don't need to be exposed to.
maybe i'm paranoid but I'd never stake anything on binance unless it was a situation where lets say I doubled my money, cashed out the initial investment, and divided up the profit into different risks, one being staking on bananadance. But I'm also someone that has missed out on every single memeshitcoin pump
