1/10 oz gold things are usually a scam with high premiums. I would not touch gold with more than a 2% premium. If that's all you can afford each month, then save up and make purchase quarterly or once a year. 4oz of silver and 0.1oz of gold every month is enough to buy maybe a sovereign every other month; I'd do that instead.
PMGs are not about making money, they're about preserving wealth and combating inflation, more for gold than silver. I wouldn't recommend stacking if you're poor. Silver is not going to hit the moon or whatever people are convinced will happen and if SHTF, PMs won't be traded for decades and not until proper communities are established.
Focus on gold, stack silver because it's fun and cheap. I tend to get about 7oz silver a week and then 2-3 sovereigns a month.

Nothing will matter when/IF SHTF. If there's a situation where the dollar has collapsed and the country is in anarchy then the world closely follows as almost every country's economy and currency is pegged to the dollar. In the first few weeks/months of chaos, having shiny silver or gold won't help you. There will be chaos everywhere and people will be fighting and killing over resources. Food, medicine, fuel, safety and shelter.
After the initial chaos, people will begin to band together to form small communities but even then it will still be about food, fuel and skills. Would a community that has stocked up on food and ammunition want your gold/silver or the next guy along who is a doctor and knows how to treat their wounded? Or the next guy who is an engineer and can help maintain their generators or the damn they've built their community around?
Only when there are established communities and civilisation begins to form again will people need to using things like silver and gold to trade.
PMs, more so gold, become useful if you have localised collapses. Like Syria for instance, where money in the bank doesn't matter any more and your beach front property is a wreck. You escape the country, wearing your gold jewellery and carrying gold coins to restart your life in another country. If you're escaping to another country, what's easier to carry? $100,000 in silver coins or gold coins? Especially if safety is a concern? Easier to shove a few gold coins up your arse than a silver monster box.

inb4 shill, currently got a little over 300oz of silver in case I'm wrong and because it's a neat metal to collect. But trying to convince people that silver will moon to $10,000 an oz or whatever is exactly like the jeets convincing people to buy scam crypto because it'll 100x

Time frame is implied by the fact that Anon is putting ~$400/mo into PMs, and he'd have to ~1.5x that amount to guarantee efficient purchases. If you're concerned about PMs going insane in the next few months, you hedge yourself with mining ETFs.

>> No.58192903

History shows that when people who are familiar with a money economy lose access to sufficient reliable currency they very quickly find a substitute because barter is so cumbersome and inefficient. The idea that people will barter for decades after a currency collapse is nonsense.

In the USA during the depression of the 1830s there was a shortage of currency. People very quickly began minting and circulating their own coins. Now called Hard Times tokens. Same thing happened during the Civil War. Even people confined to prison camps invent money.

When the US dollar collapses (when, not if) people will very quickly find alternative currency. PMs are the most likely replacement for the same reasons they have been money for thousands of years.

Kids are in their teens and can't read, they're hooked to their telephones but don't know how to use a computer or anything electronic that isn't an app. Women are more promiscuous then ever yet we've reached the highest percentage of men not having sex.

We live in a VERY different world to the depressions era or the 1800s. When/IF the dollar collapses, it will be replaced with a newer more controlled system. E-Dollars, E-Yuan, BitYet, GoodBoyInternetPoints etc.

You seem to be throwing everything you can think of against the wall to see what sticks. But no matter how much you think things have changed, money is still half of nearly every economic transaction on the planet. That will not change. What replaces the dollar when it collapses remains to be seen. But it is highly unlikely that billions of people all over the world who just got fucked by the US dollar will turn around and accept some vapor coin from the same country that just fucked them. They will want something more substantial. History strongly suggests that gold and silver will fill the bill.

To a large extent, stacking is compelled by a process of elimination. If, like most of us, you see the American economy as a gigantic fraud sitting on top of the biggest debt bubble in history, then you know that when the bubble pops mind-boggling amounts of paper wealth are going to evaporate. So where do you park your wealth?

In a sense it doesn't matter what happens after the dollar collapses. No matter what happens, you will be better off with hard assets in hand that have ALWAYS been valuable.

You're forgetting population. In 25 years India And Africa are going to be the population centres of the world. One is closely linked with BRICS and veering away from the dollar, even going as far to buy Russian gas in rubles whilst the other is an unstable continent that has been slowly bought up by China as US interests have waned. The usage of the dollar has slowly declined worldwide, it's not idiotic to say that the dollar will be replaced with some other currency and with an increasingly digitised world. Crypto is a massive scam, but why is it suddenly becoming mainstream? Because every single transaction can be logged and traced, can't do that with cash. It's not far-fetched to say that a digital currency will be the future after the dollar. China has already launched their digital yuan.

What's hilarious is India is crashing the BRICS all alone just in spite of muslims by siding with Israel at any cost even though the last 6 BRICS members they accepted are muslims nations kek. BRICS will never be more than an economic zone agreement for transnational payments at best, they all have interests in contradiction with each others, no real alliance will ever emerge from this.

Not saying this to contradict your post, it's all correct and predictable, just that the BRICS wont become a monolithic threatening entity politically, but an economic zone this size getting rid of the USD is enough to greatly weaken it for sure.

Jesus fucking christ people are panicking like crazy which might make sense for the folks who are planning to live off the governmnet for the rest of their lives, including former military on pension, social security or the businesses that profit from these consumers, but the idea that the WHOLE WORLD is going to do like the americans and collapse.... yeah good luck fantasizing about that. YOU guys are the ones that can't live within your means. YOU are the ones printing the currency and borrowing into existence too much money and having it fuck up your conception of reality.

Checked.

It's not just gold. The media is being really blase about BTC reaching all time high and the amount of risk that's stacking up in derivatives and banks on the verge of collapsing from over-exposure to CRE.

The insane amount of apathy (or suppression) is another sign the collapse is near. Back in the 80s, it was a huge deal that the national debt reached $1 trillion USD. Now $1 trillion is just another Monday agreement to fund 3 months of bloated federal operations. People are hiding their head in the sand afraid to look at the train about to run them over and hope it just passes them by.

The first big movement was months ago so now a lot are just waiting for it to get to the price they really want. Like it's less about reaching new ATHs and more that a previous ATH seemed to have kicked off the longer term pump. It's like having some investment and you celebrate an ATH more as a signal of it starting to really move and now you're waiting for it to reach $1, $10, etc. Basically getting worked up over every ATH along the way just won't happen.

They have no concept that literally EVERYTHING they own is credit.
Insurance, Stocks, Bonds, Real Estate, are all leveraged assets dependent on a counterparty. Or they exist in a market that is corrupt by credit (debt pulls forward demand from the future and allows people to consume at rates HIGHER than their income should allow).
A simple thought experiment is to imagine what would happen if the real estate market was suddenly devoid of bank credit and forcibly settled on a cash-basis only. No more borrowed money. No more cheap debt to buy up assets to own rental properties. The average American can't even come up with $2000 in a week. They're stone broke as a whole. The $50TN real estate (and all the financial MBS paper) would implode overnight in a massive cascade of write-offs and lost value.
New money is created by banks and they are often using garbage collateral to backstop the loans. So if the collateral implodes so too do the loans if they are not serviced. The dirty little trick is it's a wealth extraction scheme. If I have a $10M Treasury that is AAA then it is technically a perfectly safe asset for a bank to give me a $10M loan because the maturity date offers 100% protection to the bank. So they start layering up more and more leverage on the same bogus value and dump it all into the stock market and slurp up free money from the corporations.
That's all going to unwind and I haven't really heard a good excuse as to how that doesn't happen. All of these bad debts are like spent-fuel rods being buried in your back yard. You get electricity today, but you get cancer/mutations in the future. Our little service economy is gluttonously consuming capital and not accumulating it. And every little paycheck and investment you make has you buying CREDIT and not CAPITAL.
Gold is money, everything else is credit./

TLDR;
1.) JP Morgan in 2012 starts manipulating metal prices via spoofing, leveraging, naked shorts
2.) Silver price declines
3.) They buy COCK TONS of the cheap metal and make BILLIONS (see graph)
4.) In 2015 David Meister, a CFTC regulator, opens a probe on the case and oversees it
5.) He convicts 5 traders including managers under RICO
6.) Meister A DAY AFTER closes the probe and then QUITS as regulator and then goes BACK to working as a LAWYER for one of the people he convicted!
7.) JP Morgan ends up paying about $1B in fines (they made $12B a year later in revenue so no biggie)
8.) The traders get sent to prison for 1 or 2 years and a measly $50~90k fine
9.) JP Morgan did not need to return the silver they accumulated
10.) Silver to this day still depressed a long with gold

Silver pundits have a tough job because they can be 100% right but their timing can make them 100% wrong. In hindsight, investing in silver for 15+ years can be a feel-bad investment when other people seemingly are making money hand over fist. The problem is, when silver has its day in the sun international trade will be renegotiated, credit will lose purchasing power, and crippling deflation will be hitting maintstreet. It will be a depression and not just a V-Shaped recovery where we all get the magical opportunity to buy into the markets and ride the wave higher. The financial system will be checked with reality of the real economy.

I think IQDELET is some angry former-stacker who went all-in during 2011 and got burned because they're bad with money.

The best time to buy an asset is when it's ignored or hated by the market. I bought oil during the crash of spring 2020 and made a lot of money on those trades when stocks were near bottom. I bought bitcoin during the so-called "crypto winter" while people like Jim Cramer was saying it was dead and I made a lot of money.

Right now the market fucking HATES silver and so I'm buying it. Silver mining stocks and silver bullion are basically a bargain right now. I wouldn't be surprised to see another 2011 style event in another year or two as silver likes to rally toward the end of a gold bull market, and the gold bull market just started.

Unpopular opinion: The dollar will never actually collapse.

The Fed's CBDC will simply be dressed up as the dollar despite not sharing any characteristics with it. In this way the dollar and the limited freedoms associated with physical cash will be destroyed while maintaining the image of stability for the U.S. government.

This doesn't mean PMs won't moon or be revalued to incredible values, just that the SHTF scenarios are probably overly dramatic compared to what'll actually happen.

The dollar already collapsed long ago. It's been running on fumes and they keep coming up with fun new ways to prop it up: FDR confiscating gold and revaluing it afterward, Bretton Woods, Nixon "temporarily" suspending gold convertability, and replacing it with the petrodollar agreement via Kissinger and now CBDC. You're watching social structures and actual infrastructure crumble around you in real time. People can't afford food, transportation and shelter in increasing numbers every day and the US is accelerating that by taking on increased immigration from socialist countries that except to be provided for by their government. The engines are running on fumes and they're adding more passengers. Grab a parachute if you want to live.

>The dollar already collapsed long ago
Then why does the entire world still value it above other currencies? Even often above gold and silver?

I'm already aware of what you're describing and you're ignoring the psychological effect that I was talking about.

Just because the dollar has lost purchasing value over generations doesn't mean there's an alternative currency out there.

>> No.58195326

>>58195217
Bretton Woods in the 40s established the dollar as a global derivative of gold. Then all western currencies became derivatives of the dollar once that was the agreed standard unit of international trade. Under Nixon's administration, the gold backing was fully removed and replaced with a petrodollar agreement made with Saudi Arabia and OPEC that all OPEC nations will only accept US dollars for the oil. That agreement is in the process of dissolving now. Other nations outside the SWIFT system have started trading for oil and other commodities without the dollar.

But the legacy system in which many other currencies still act as a derivative of the dollar is still in place. The Japanese yen, the British pound, etc. They're falling because US interest rates went back up but they still need to trade their own currency for US dollars to buy oil within the SWIFT system.

However the dollar is also falling because inflation is still running hot. It's just not falling as fast as the other currencies. The dollar is just the shiniest turd in the toilet right now.

The biggest flaw in the dollar right now is the lack of trust forming from a crack where the US confiscated Russian assets that were basically treasuries in dollars that it was holding for Russia. It announced to the world that anyone buying bonds from the U.S. can have their assets seized. The bank of the world is no longer being objective.

It's true that there's no other trust-based fiat out there that can replace it, but the invention of blockchain is what's so deadly to the dollar. It's not trust-based. It's verification-based. BTC and gold-backed blockchain currency can't be confiscated in the same way U.S. treasuries can. That's the sea change I see in the waters right now. It won't happen immediately, but I think it'll happen faster than markets expect.

Or we can just set off global EMPs and go back to the stone age. Either way, dollar no good anymore as a long-term store of value.

I know the history of the dollar very well, and the fact that it should be equal to 371 grains of silver according to the Coinage Act of 1792.

Let's get away from history and lecturing, please.

What I'm talking about is the PSYCHOLOGICAL hold on people that the dollar has. The "crack" you refer to isn't something the general public perceives, and the world leaders of other countries with even half a brain should already know the dollar is garbage.

The bottom line is that the dollar will not collapse, only TRANSFORMED into something more sustainable, with more control to boot. It doesn't matter if it loses ALL value, if THEY maintain the image of value.

Actually I just ordered last night and was pleasantly surprised that $1000 was gone from my account when I woke up this morning. Usually I just watch the money sit in my account for 3-5 days before getting this status alert. Only my second time ordering from Monument Metals, and I can't remember how long the shipping took last time.

Question for those lurking...
Has anyone noticed a lot of bullion dealers are low on stock for a good many products lately? I'm seeing more and more "Out of Stock" and "Notify Me" recently. Has me a little concerned.

On a work trip and stopped by perth mint. Really wanted some superpits or nuggets but none in stock. I couldn’t leave empty handed so picked up a couple of roos.
Gotta say, they’re very well struck coins. Can barely feel a die lip.

Just kidding, fren. I use ACH payment for everything. I've ordered from a bullion dealer, can't remember which, that needed a check number. I didn't have a check with a number so I did some digging online. Turns out they just need your info and some digits. Just be sure not to use the same digits twice.

They don't change and yes it's safe to provide these numbers to reputable bullion dealers.

I was going to order a shit ton of 2oz Monarch bars and when I went to put them in my cart it turns out they only had 23 of them. This was Apmex by the way, and that item isn't very low premium. I did not. The most important things I think I took away from Austrian economics was the thought experiment of using a desert island and how "saving" berries created a surplus to allow you to invest the time to create fishing poles in order to catch fish (savings leading to capital accumulation and higher wages). I often think about how useless a banker would be on a desert island when you need real work completed.
That sort of logic helps you differentiate types of work being done. Services, middlemen, luxury tier professions (lawyers and bankers and services are pretty useless on a desert island. They are essentially "costs" to society in that you need to be able to afford them. Zimbabwe can just go and build up their infrastructure with the wave of a pen. They need logistics and material first. So everything we have available to us 100% comes from farms, mines, and energy, and manufacturing. Our surplus in the commodity sphere is where ALL of society lives and dies.

In his scenario there is not enough value to be created by having somebody store society's savings and allocate them (loan them for an interest rate) in order to pay depositors a return on their allocation. What he is alluding to is that when you shrink the economy, there isn't as much room for middlemen etc... there isn't surplus to the degree that you can have a role like that actually add to the productive capacity of the group versus pulling manpower that would have been allocated to catching more fish or making fire..
If in his scenario the group had saved up a bunch of fish, and somebody was able to stay on the beach and instead of catch and eat the fish (thus using his day to catch the fish) just eat the stockpiled fish, he would have free time... he could use that free time to create a net.. with that net they could have 1 person fishing instead of 3... then the 2 freed up persons could go and create surplus elsewhere etc etc etc.... suddenly you have surplus and THEN and ONLY THEN is there a reason for somebody to think about the next best thing to invest fish into.

The breakaway become more apparent each day.
SHME (China's Comex) closed silver 11% above western spot valuation this friday, at almost $28/oz. And +1.1% for gold (which is also a pretty big deal).

The writings were on the wall for years. How many times did we talk about how smart a strategy it would be for China to price the spot slightly higher and wait for the opportunists to show up and profit from the arbitrage to vaccum all what's left of globohomo physical reserves and transfert it to China?
Now that's a reality.

China is getting the best bang imaginable for their USD, and they very well know it.
Only question in suspend is how long our banksters will allow it (unless of course they too are participating in this deal, as we know the transfert from NYC to HK already began).

It's pure censorship and they're not enforcing the rules appropriately. I was banned a few weeks ago just for saying I didn't report someone.

They don't want us talking about wartime conditions and how it affects stackers, they don't want us talking about the juice even in passing, they don't want us posting links to PM products, or videos about PMs...

and yet this obvious troll gets to spam his hatred against stackers and PMs all day and night here? wtf?

coins will never be worthless, but the prices they've commanded from the 1980's to now are a very recent, very local phenomenon caused by boomers and others with way too much money on their hands and an obsession with treasure. Boomers remember when US coins weren't graded, and were traded for a tiny fraction of what they cost now. I think we had our first million dollar coin auction in the 80's. And prices on all kinds of US coins have risen sharply since then.

This is opposed to earlier times, when people still collected coins, but were too busy trying to put food on the table and a roof over their heads to be paying for coins they want but don't need. We're one good depression away from US coins dropping by 99% in price, or simply becoming impossible to sell. Even if that never happens, the people that drove up the price will die off, are dying off right now, and new generations may not view coins as valuable or worth buying. Hard to say. They'll never be worthless, but they could easily be worth a lot less.

zoomers and millenials are all set to inherit a shitload of coins, but it's doubtful they'll keep or add to the collections.
A person has to be in a very specific place financially and mentally to want to collect coins, and odds are the collections aren't going to get handed down at exactly the same time the grandkids are getting interested in coins and have the money to keep them.

some do I guess.
I have 2 kids, one a millennial and one zoomer.
The zoomer recently got into searching change for errors because of youtube videos.

That's pretty much the same way I got into coin collecting, except there wasn't any youtube in the 1970's. So I guess it's at least possible that some of those guys will collect coins.

the bigger problem I see is you have to be financially stable to keep a coin collection, and I've never met a financially stable zoomer. With housing costs right now I'm not even sure it's possible. Coin collections are a luxury for people that have spare money. Zoomers aren't there yet. Might never get there.

currently $10k = 400 oz silver at $25 spot
if spot goes to $100.
then suddenly my $10k debt = 100 oz.

thats a win for me. if today it would take selling 400 oz to pay off debt.
but if silver is $100.oz, then i only have to sell 100 ozs to pay off $10k debt.

Of course people will try to lowball you. It's not illegal or immoral, and boomers certainly aren't the only ones doing it. If you don't like it either say something or if your autism prevents speech, go online and sell.
>70% less than spot is a lot more than a couple of bucks moron
I'm talking about paying spot or close to it.

I make my money off people selling for a third of spot or less. If I pay you spot I lose money.

I provide several valuable services for my cut

I have money right now, you don't have to wait 15 years for your shit to sell at full retail value

I have customers right now, so I can sell your shit in less than 15 years

I sort your shit and price it for sale

I offer a convenient single location for buying and selling

I take all the risk that comes with dealing with douchebags like yourself.

for that, I take over half of the retail value. Sometimes a lot over.

The dipshit didn't know how to produce anything creative, functional, or necessary; so he opened up an expensive pawnshop because it is easier to use your parents inheritance than working from the ground up. Most Bullion dealers are this archetype. Faggots who never moved out of their parents basement who jew the next person who is actually interested in finances or artistic expression on precious metals.

most bulliion dealers are coin or jewelry dealers who also happen to buy bullion.

there's no money in just buying and selling bullion unless you're selling billions of dollars a year.

It is like you decided to do nothing and make money for it! You couldn't hack it in actual financial education and are so much a fucking social pariah you can't be bothered to socialize with others. Because others know how much of a mentally ill faggot you are. Bad business ethics. Your miserable existence makes more sense knowing you don't do anything of value. You are shittiest most expensive and discriminatory pawn shop ever

yes. And they should. Often they don't feel like going to all the trouble of finding a better buyer and working with them. Most of them didn't pay for the metal in the first place, so they don't care.

Not illegal and not considered immoral in the US. If a person doesn't like my offer they're free to ask for more or go somewhere else. I'll stay in business either way, because I'm not buying coins at full retail prices. That wouldn't make me any money at all and there's no reason for me to do it.

on bullion, yes. We don't make money on bullion. If all we sold was bullion none of us would be in business.

we make money on coin collections. My average gross profit is 100%, but I can easily make ten times that every now and then.

and all of us are doing that either directly or indirectly. We don't pay full price for inventory, someone is buying it at a fraction of full value to sell to us, or we're buying it directly at a fraction of full value.

then sell your bullion to the public and find out what exactly I'm doing for you.

most people try it and find out pretty fast. It takes forever to sell, there's a good chance you'll get robbed, and you're either traveling a lot or spending a fortune on shipping.
