BBBY chapter 11 bankruptcy case is still in development. First, I will proof its not over despite what shills says and then I will show how an anon still interested in the play can participate through the power of bonds. How do I know that BBBY is still on you ask? I know because the debtors in the BBBY chapter 11 bankruptcy case received a limited discharge. Here is proof of it from the filings.

Now let's discuss what a discharge is.
>What is a discharge in bankruptcy? A bankruptcy discharge releases the debtor from personal liability for certain specified types of debts. In other words, the debtor is no longer legally required to pay any debts that are discharged.

However, there are certain requirements in order to get a discharge and they prove that chapter 11 is still going on.

The key word is reorganization. In order to get a discharge there must be a plan of REORGANIZATION.

So now I've proven there's still a plan of reorganization and not just a pure liquidation which the courts have acknowledged and granted a limited discharge. We know Ryan Cohen still some type of involvement in BBBY and we can figure out a method to take part in the bankruptcy by looking at what debt raiders, or vulture capitalists, do to take over companies in bankruptcy, which is by buying debt and getting a debt to equity swap. They do this by buying the bulk of the fulcrum security.

In other words, the fulcrum security is determined on a case by case basis. We can figure out what is the fulcrum security by the process of elimination. The fulcrum will be the Class (through 1-6) that the debtor does NOT have collateral to pay off. Since there is no cash to satisfy this class, it will instead be given equity in exchange for its debt.

But, anon wtf is the fulcrum security in regards to BBBY? We can figure that out by looking at the confirmed plans expected recoveries.

Let's figure out the fulcrum security. We can see from pic rel, Class 1 and 2 are expected to be 100% paid off and thus are eliminated. Class 3 and 4 have a strong chance to be 100% paid off and can be arguably eliminated (or receive a small amount of equity that could not be covered by cash). Investors cannot buy those classes anyway. Class 5 is a measly 100k and can be eliminated. That leaves us with Class 6 for a value in the billions with a measly 2.5% chance of recovery aka being paid out in cash. Class 6 is bonds. Remember the goal of a debt raider is to buy up a large position of debt in order to change it to equity in order for their debts to be satisfied. How do we know they will get equity? Because there is a plan of reorganization as confirmed by the court granted limited discharge. Class 6 won't be left hanging with nothing and will get their debt (bonds ) swapped out for equity in the new continuing business after the chapter 11 is concluded. We know BBBY does not have the cash to pay off Class 6 bonds as they suspended payments. Equity can be used to satisfy what cash cannot.

We know shortsellers are the dumb stormtroopers in the galaxy as per Ryan Cohen and he has quite the disdain for them. With BBBY being driven into bankruptcy, all shares were cancelled and delisted. In order to fuck shorts deep in their guts, BBBY would need to issue new equity to old shareholders which are Class 9 who are expected to receive no recoveries in the liquidation plan, but we do not know of the details of the reorganization plan. If you want to be a destroyer of shorts, would you really let them off the hook by not preserving Class 9? And because of absolute priority rules, in order for Class 9 (the bottom of the classes) to be preserved, all other classes before it must be satisfied. How does one preserve Class 6 who is owed billions of dollars with an expected cash recovery of a measly 2.5%? By doing a debt for equity swap. Satisfying this class is also a requirement in order to carry over NOLs which are currently worth billions.

So to summarize:
We know this chapter 11 plan is not one of pure liquidation because the courts granted the debtors a limited discharge which must have a plan of reorganization aka continuing the business.

We know Class 6 (bonds) is the fulcrum security as the debtors do not have enough cash to satisfy it.
We can safely conclude that part of the debtors plan of reorganization is to satisfy Class 6 through a debt for equity swap in the emerging entity after chapter 11. Preserving secured and unsecured creditors are what enabled the billions of dollars worth of NOLs to be utilized.

In order to carry over short positions, Class 9 (shareholders) must be preserved. We cannot satisfy Class 9 without satisfying all other classes before it.

So obviously none of us can buy anymore shares to join Class 9, but the Class 6 bonds are still trading.
