Does /biz/ take adderall, modafinil or anything similar? How much shit can you get done?

/biz/ & /finance/ is DRUG FREE zone,
mostly financial related workers, starting investors, finance and business college students.
You can do whatever you set your mind to, without drugs my friend :)

>> No.581548

Being able to get a lot of shit done isn't worth the price of addiction. I've watched that go down from beginning to end, would never do it myself.

>> No.581553

I have a few adderalls, never tried them.
Daily stack consists of piracetam, bacopa, and others

>> No.581650

Stupid, you spend more on the pills than you would make with the benefits of them.
Even if its for college, you'll develop a dependency on them and be fucked by a "i need it to feel normal" tax for the rest of your life.

Enjoy your addiction and inevitable heart problems.

Sure you'll get a lot done for maybe a few years but you'll feel much less capable when off the drugs. And using stimulants long-term isn't such a good idea

Nootropics, like any drugs are dangerous stuff and can cause unknown problems with long term use.

People will try and push their crap nootropics by telling you that they'll improve your focus and superpowers and bullshit, but don't buy any of it. I can tell you from first hand experience that all nootropics were able to do for me was give me panic attacks. Just stick with hard work and coffee.

This is completely understandable.

Though, there is a difference between you, who needs the medication to function, and OP who is a dipwad that wants to goose his productivity.

tbh I would recommend a healthy lifestyle, as that's widely regarded in the nootropics forums - with maybe the vitamin D3 tablet daily.

However I do take Modafinil on days when I need to be awake and focus, but thats once every month or so.

I have ADHD but never take my medicine. It zombies me out. If I can get by without it, I see no reason why normal people need them to pass a test. Fucking weak mate. You'll never make it.

>c-student in highschool
>c- student for first 3 years in college
>manage to bamboozle doctor to give me adderall
>switched medical insurance and did the same with second doctor but this time I got modafinil
>mix with a bunch of pseudo anti-depressants such as nootropics
>Become straight A student graduating with a degree in finance/CS minor and taking CFA next semester. Thinking about a masters if I pass CFA

Its a trade-off, I'm sure, I will get some sort of brain cancer when I'm 45 or just hang myself from all the lucid nightmares. However at the same time its better than having to get a BA in some basket weaving degree and work at a big box store as a cashier till I'm 30 for a 2$ promotion as a supervisor.(Based on a true story)

These meds don't make you smarter per say, instead everything you do becomes really interesting as words and numbers have meaning behind them. However I take a break from them during summer break/winter and basically I spend all my time in bed fapping and watching anime like I did before the prescription.

Also I personally think all non-prescription supplements such as nootropics especially the racetams are placebos and are over glorified by the drug peddlers from various websites. But then again if you believe it works why not?

I went from an indifferent, B student to a regularly (except the semesters with extreme workloads or the one when I took a management and a finance capstone course at the same time like a retard) 4.0 student. I had/have a 3.9 in grad school, mostly because of it.

Adderall works for sure, but it's not without its consequences. I already had heart issues (which I exacerbated) and developed anxiety from taking too much of it, however I felt like the biggest trade off was creativity for productivity, something I'm still trying to regain now a year off the shit. I don't feel like it fucked me up half as bad as nootropics like Alpha Brain did though.

YMMV of course, but it's not a miracle drug.

I would like to try modafinil, but the unscrupulous doctor that prescribed me Adderall was stripped of his medical license a while back.

Cheers m8z

Yes I do.

Twice a day prescribed, they do not stimulate me or give me a speed like effect if I take normally.

Was prescribed for "ADD", would prefer medical weed instead but there is no medical weed here.

Are the side effects really that bad? I was thinking about using it just to get used to studying since i'll have to go through 2 years of hardcore studying to get in a good econ university. planned on using it for half a year.

You're in for an adventure. I too tought it would be all nice and games for the semester, but boy was I wrong.
A bit about my background: been in uni for 2 years, 1 in econ 1 in accounting. Since accounting is so hard+need money cause poor means poor grades and such since I was still a law abiding faggot.
this year i was taking speed to study and it was preety good. Now its adderall and man its nice but I cant stop. Believe it or not, for me adderal is MORE addictive than speed. With speed id be just fed up with the high, being this long. But with adderall it goes down and I need more and idk man. It actually screwed me more over than it helped
If you must use drugs, just use coffee. That has been the most beneficial to me

This might get long so, my apologies.

I started taking Adderall my 3rd year into a 5 year architectural engineering degree. My buddy had a script he only kept for selling, so I could get it very cheap. It started as being just for studying and the rare all nighter to finish a project. This level of use lasted for about 6 month (one 20 mg pill 1-2 times per week). The summer after that year I started taking it for going out and video games, then it progressed to every day. Adderall was great while smoking to stay alert and a blast while drinking. At my worst (5th year thesis) I would take 40-80 mg instant release every day. Sometimes I would hate myself and try to take a break from it, but would never last more than a few days before caving in.

By the end of my 5th year I was seriously burned out and just barely completed my thesis project. I even have an email saved from the Thesis professor titled "Do you want to graduate?" Basically, the drugs made me focus on things that were not important and I would spend my time obsessing over trivial details. I was always late on checkpoints and my finished product was shit.

Luckily, I somehow managed to keep my final GPA barely above a 3.0. My thesis grade was a C, which is just barely passing for my specific program. I consider myself lucky to make it through this experience in such good shape and ended up with a great job after graduation.

Regarding the drugs, I quit cold turkey after my Thesis presentation. I had been up for 60 hours strait finishing the report and throwing together the power point as quickly as possible, then went strait to present it in front of my graduating class and several working professionals. This was sort of the final motivation I needed to quit. Still haven't touched anything but weed and alcohol since.

Nothing, absolutely.

I don't drink alcohol, coffee, smoke cigarettes or weed. I never have.
I only drink water. Not having any friends or much of a social life helps. I skipped the whole teenage peer pressure part and now there's nothing attractive to me about those things. Also /fit/ helps a lot, best board on 4chan.

I finished my BSc at the top of the class and got into a top uni for MSc. I'm doing alright. I don't believe there's any need to take anything for productivity, just lead a healthy active life (diet, lifting etc), sleep well, limit masturbation and you will keep a clear head.
Caffeine is a weird thing, it seems that instead of boosting your productivity, it simply decreases it during the periods when you're off it. So, you start needing it just to function normally. Also, it's addictive. I have a very addictive personality and used to drink energy drinks in my teenage years. I haven't had any for several years now, and I can still feel the craving. I'm pretty sure that if you ever quit coffee, you'll be craving it forever, especially when passing a coffee shop.
