Ah, I see the confusion allow me to clarify any misconceptions about this ERC-20 token Chainlink (Ticker: LINK).
You see Chainlink (Ticker: LINK) is a token revolving around the concept of keeping it at the price of a cup of coffee per link. Please see the Whitepaper for clarification on this.
Since inflation has gone up, the price of a cup of coffee is now 18.68 USD, exactly where we want it to be. Therefore it doesn't require that much volume to keep it at that price. (Until inflation goes up again that is haha).

Because it isn't a shitcoin. Anyone who comes across Chainlink either gets it and buys a massive bag, or doesn't and moves on. Either way, you're seeing others gaining speculative value that will convert to LINK during the use of services. Things like CCIP and oracles aren't really being used by most of the industry because half the top-20 are literal shitcoins like Shib and BCH. If crypto is adopted by major institutions for infrastructural processes (it already has been) you'll see LINK start sucking all this speculative money into a black hole that'll make Google Adwords look like pocket-money.

I think chainlink is a great investment.
Reason 1: Oracles are big, and link has that first mover advantage.
Reason 2: CCIP right around the corner. This will usher in a whole new landscape of coins and investment opportunities, kind of like eth in 2017 but bigger.
Reason 3: staking. if you're not in the pool now, you're gonna wanna get into it once it opens up more. you need link to stake, so get it now to have a chance to get in the pool
Reason 4: just my personal opinion, but owning link is fun! join the chainlink community reddit/discord/pinterest groups and connect with fellow link marines!
