On the contrary. I live in a place with lots of silver and gold.

You should probably buy silver if you can only afford 1 gram of gold. The smaller the gold, the higher the premiums. Starte out with buffalo rounds, to at least have some physical silver. A few months ago I threw $900 into 3 different shitcoins for shits and giggles. Boring as fuck. Can't hold it in my hand and admire the artwork or history. Numbers on a screen. I have a job so can't stare at a screen all day, and wouldn't really know how to make money off of it anyway.

I'd rather just trade my fiat for metals knowing that it's a no brainer and the safest haven to store my labor.

Is this a troll post? I get I'll get responded to with cries of shill or troll but seriously you can't actually be using this as an example of why crypto is bad?

>fee to buy a base crpyto-coin with real money
>fee to switch said coin to another coin
Good exchanges have 0 fee deposits if you pay by bank transfer. If you're using the "swap" feature instead of placing limit orders you're going to get horrendous fees because it's a normie trap for people too stupid / intimidated to use limit orders.
>sorry want to buy this coin? it's on another blockchain so more fees to switch
If you're using a bridge you're going to have to pay both network fees, it's usually easier to send to an exchange then withdraw the same coin on a different network. Also exchange trades are off chain so chain doesn't really matter.
>sorry it's 3:54am in Kandahar at the moment which means fees are higher than usual
I assume you're using ETH but there are tons of chains that have sub $1 fees.
>20% of this coin is held by one wallet so rugs as soon as it gains 20% value
>oh sorry this coin turned out to be a scam so crashed in price
Why are you buying shitcoins then being surprised when you get rugged? There are tools to prevent this like tokensniffer.
>oh sorry because BTC is going down in price then so are ALL coins
Some alts have been gaining rapidly against BTCs downward movement, you can filter the top 100 coins by biggest gainers and see what's moving against BTC.
>you need to aggressively tweet about this coin to get it go up in value
No you don't.
>need a coin to rise 50% in value minimum in order to break even after transaction fees
Absolutely false unless buying on ETH which would make it your fault.
>no actual value or use for coins, just gambling with bots
You're buying shitcoins, not solid technology that solves problems.
>need to jump onto every new coin early in order to make money or get scammed
You needed to jump on gold ~2000 years ago to make a real profit.

You're talking about depositing USD first, but then you get the fees incurred when you purchase the crypto.
>If you're using the "swap" feature instead of placing limit orders you're going to get horrendous fees
There are fees for limit orders on most exchanges as well.
>there are tons of chains that have sub $1 fees.
Yeah because they're garbage and aren't actually decentralized or they're not actually being used.
>There are tools to prevent this like tokensniffer.
KEK that doesn't prevent rugs
>No you don't.

>You're buying shitcoins, not solid technology that solves problems.
NOTHING in crypto solves any problem.
>You needed to jump on gold ~2000 years ago to make a real profit.
It's not an investment, normies like you fail to understand this fundamental concept, and basically everyone here is in profit anyway.

>not solid technology that solves problems.
Not taking the psis, but what solid technology? What does crypto currency actually do? Oh it's a safe, private and easy to use alternative to FIAT?
Other than being rife with scams, both by individuals and exchanges. Completely traceable, because you had to convert from FIAT in the first place. And slower then shit because it takes anywhere from 15 minutes to 24 hours to purchase crypto in the first place, then 15 minutes to an hour for a transaction to be "verified". At least if card machines go down I can still pay with cash, what do you with your crypto? "Bro, trust me here's my wallet address".
Worse than FIAT which is already shit paper to begin with.

>placing limit orders
So crypto is superior because instead of just going on a website and clicking "buy 20 coins" you have to know this secret handshake to buying crypto that you can't find out because it's all so rife with scams that nothing can be trusted? Sounds like a very simple alternative to avoiding fees.

>it's usually easier to send to an exchange then withdraw the same coin on a different network
The simplicity continues, with having to send your token on 4 connecting flights with a 24 hour layover in order to trade them in for something else. Far simpler than handing some guy a piece of silver and getting a load of bread or whatever.

I think there's a bigger threat than even that.

look at programs and processors from 30 or 40 years ago. They simply don't matter anymore. Crypto is quite new, and there's no real reason to think it'll survive the steady march of technology. It's already fairly pointless. Just a number to gamble on in quasi-legal casinos. It's easy to imagine governments outlawing it either because it can't be regulated or it wastes too much juice and that would be the end of it.

gold and silver at least have thousands of years of history behind them. Crypto is software from less than 20 years ago, and software doesn't age well.

Can we talk shit about diamonds and the diamond industry here?

I fucking hate diamonds. Diamond is literally just another form of coal and it can be vaporized into CO2 with a blowtorch.
Diamond can even be made in a jungle-infested Mongolian lab.

Why do NPCs like diamond so much? Fucking gay glass. Precious metals are fascinating in comparison.

It is a monopoly that cornered all of the mines and began a massive marketing campaign to extort exhobitant prices. The diamond industry is even trying to standardize them into bars in order to make them similar to gold which is pretty laughable. They were also incredibly expensive. Like a bar with some diamonds in it was like $5000 or two ounces of gold.
Luckily there are synthetic diamonds so you can undercut the jewelers because despite factually know it is a big scam, people are still too retarded to not want some gaudy diamond jewelry that costs tens of thousands of dollars.

Diamonds are fascinating (disclaimer: GIA trained grader). I don't hold any, because i think they're worthless but several people think they're not. They're traded extremely easily and many are "blood diamonds". Fascinating to me, because De Beers which is certainly the biggest diamond dong around was founded by none other than Cecil Rhodes. And I'm a big fan of Rhodesia.

The diamond scam once saved me from a matrimonial mistake. I asked a woman to marry me. When we went to look for an engagement ring I tried to steer her away from diamonds and towards some colored gems - ruby, emerald, sapphire, etc. She started hemming and hawing and we ended up not buying a ring and breaking off the engagement. They just fancy themselves as being different so as to differentiate themselves from the masses they prey on. They're just highly organized in a power structure that systematically destroys or coopts anything that stands in their way.
There is no need to be conspiratorial as it muddies the water. All you need to do is focus on the power structures (finance, economics, academia, media, entertainment) and then point out how they all support one another in a single hegemon.
