I have a lot of experience with actually autistic people, not in the lolurautistic way; autistic people CAN learn social queues but they need more practice, they don't intuit it naturally like people via cues, so they need a thought structure to help them.
One way I like is to make them practice by using a ball or small rock. When you say something, or ask someone something about themselves, pass the rock over to them, and when they answer and ask something back they pass it over, you can only talk with the rock in this game.
This helps you train prompting and engagement with people, after a couple of times with the object, you can just do it by imagining the object. You picture handing them over the object while waiting for them to respond and then you picture them handing it back to you.
It might sound stupid or you may think, oh I'm just a little autistic I don't need this shit this is for rainman level retards. But really it's good for even neurotypical people and I ask you to just try it a handful of times in your head, you'll be impressed at the difference it makes, I assure you.

My brother has legit clinical schizophrenia and won't take his medicine. Ended up a felon after stealing a box truck and running away from "government agents."
