If it wasn't dumped on by VCs, and maybe had a better name/logo, it would have started at like 100k mc and then became a top 5-6 coin. As it stands it's already a large cap so it has little room to grow, and I don't think people trust the team enough for it to ever really break the top 10. Lots of beginners make the mistake of buying something like ICP when they think dog coins are stupid, but the trick is low cap utility gems with good narrative, usecase, dextools, marketing, and tokenomics.

Unironically, yes, that is one of the requirements if you want true decentralizations. I run bitcoin nodes on a raspberry Pi, because Bitcoin only does one thing and does it succesfully. If the barrier to entry is so high that only corporations who can afford to deploy $100k servers can join then you're Decentralized In Name Only, like icypiss is today.
If the SEC wanted to shut Bitcoin down what would they do? There is no one entity they can go to to end it all, Bitcoin lived before ETFs, lived through the ban of China, lived through multiple CEX and miner facility bankruptcies.
On the other hand if the SEC wanted to shut ICP down because it's an unregistered security, they would knock on Dfinity's door, arrest Dominic and shut the servers down before lunchtime.
