>The central point of the bank's estimated production cost range is currently around $26,500, which would mechanically double to $53,000 post-halving.
how many of you are retarded enough to pay more than the cost of mining bitcoin? keep in mind this is a post-halving projection and it hasn't even happened yet.
read the green text again. people are currently paying more than double the price for bitcoin pre-halving.
$66,400+ at the time this is posted.

Recall it was like 4K blocks to halving.

~ (2.5K BTC in block incentives + 300 BTC in txn fees) left to mine till halving.

That's really not a lot of projected supply hitting the market at current costs.

Have to factor in risk premia for miners + ASIC depreciation

So yeah I think its somewhat okay to be buying at current marks

Except buttconn's value isn't just dependent on it's use as a store of value.
It guarantees access into all crypto markets.
Network effects or something

It’s not. It’s around 40k. A lot of these miners have capital loans and not ideal electrical costs. One of the weaknesses of cheap electricity is a shit power grid, so it’s not as easy as chasing 5/kwh gains. You also have to be in an area with a stable grid and Internet and in the US that is way harder than you think. Plus a lot of miners run in Asia, for this reason. Their power costs are atrociously high. They also can’t just dump their token share onto the network without shocking it. This leads to a lot of surplus against a iffy demand. The only two area in the US with this kind of nexus under 10c an hour is WA and OK. And that’s been established years ago
