We're about 6 years too early for a proper ICP run. It will most likely track the market and that's it this bull. Dom has Dfinity stretched thin working on 100 different things, and constantly coming up with new distractions like muh AI on the blockchain, meanwhile essential features like storage subnets (to make filestorage on IC actually affordable) STILL aren't finished. It has been almost 3 years and we barely have BTC and ETH integration. Something that was supposed to be done in 2022. So don't count on any significant price movement until it's out of beta with the core features finished.

The contract on the receiving chain can’t ensure that the operations behind the intent of the sender were correctly computed (e.g., how BTCLoaner on Bitcoin know that the sender's Bitcoin was indeed locked). ICP is there to verify that the transaction on the sending chain is legit, but it cannot verify its business logic (e.g., `if (true) then sendCrossChainMsg('BTCLocked') to BTC/BTCLoaner`). So it seems General Message Passing is meant to be used within contracts that know/trust each other (origin of the calls must be controlled) meaning it’s a centralized pos.
