Bright green by EOD. Higher yields are stimulative for the economy. Higher prices stimulate the consumer because it means higher quality. Higher prices means higher quality means higher sales means higher prices means higher quality means higher sales. The market knows that you know that the market knows that this is the strongest economy in US history. S&P 9000 EOY

The thing is, there's literally nothing fundamentally different from last week when everything was pumping. Powell and Fed officials have been objectively dovish. Any selling is just faggot bears selling because "it's too high", not because of actual negative data. Also inb4 doomer retards try to say PPI was "hot" lmao. I cannot think or comprehend of anything more cucked than buying long-term treasuries. Honestly, think about it rationally. You are loaning your money to the Federal government for at least two years solely so they can give it to Ukraine and Israel. All the hard work you put into getting your money - wageslaving, making profitable trades, not buying too many funkopops, denying yourself avocado toast, avoiding Jeet scams on /biz/. All of it has one simple result: your money gets LOWER interest rates and is held up for longer than it would be in six month T-bills. Saved the perfect sum? Great. Who benefits? If you're lucky, a random NEET getting gibbs who had nothing to do with the way you saved your money, and who gets paid by the Feds. You get fucked by high inflation every month. Ukraine, Israel, and Lockheed Martin get the benefits of your money that came from your earnings. As an investor who buys long-term treasuries, you are LITERALLY dedicating at least two years of your investment simply to raise a sum for other people to enjoy. It is the ULTIMATE AND FINAL cuck. Think about it logically.

The markets are basically calling JPow a pussy. They keep refusing to sell off as if to say, “ you won’t do shit you dickless faggot”. And you know what? He keeps proving the markets right.
Hot CPI print?
We know what Volcker would do. He’d bust out the bepis.
Jpow otoh would go sit on the toilet and begin urinating. That’s because there is a vagina between his legs. A giant portal through which Jew semen is transported to his uterus. For JPow’s pussy is as accommodative as his monetary policy.
“We need to see more data” he would say, out loud, despite being alone in his bathroom. “Inflation is coming down, these things take time.”
JPow tears off a square of luxury toilet paper and mops up the remaining urine that’s trapped in the folds of his labia.
“We expect inflation to return to our 2% target”.
He stands and pulls his pants up off the floor.
Then everyone clapped.

I wanted to let frens know.

The Hawaiian legislature is voting on the possibility of securitizing rate payments as a kind of low interest bond to help pay off legal expenses related to the 2023 fires. The bill passed Hawaiian senate without any dissenters and is going to be voted by the state congress around 8:30 Hawaiian time. If this passes the legislature and the governor doesn't veto (seems unlikely to happen considering comments he made) the probability of Hawaiian Electric surviving the next few years without bankruptcy (probably) goes up.

The stock was trading at around $40-$45 before the fires, $12-$15 after the fires. And currently trading at around $10-$11. If the dividend resumed (paused during legal action to keep cash on hand) the yield would be around 10%.

Lol, no. It’s well on its way to 100 at this point. No one is calling the bottom on a stock that has been dropping for months and is going to gap down on its next earnings report and that’s what buying is right now. Just assume it’s going to keep going down until the behavior of the stock begins to make that feel like a crazy assumption. There isn’t a drop of evidence currently to assume it’s going to stop dropping. Find a way to short it for now. Everyone is doing it for a reason. It’s the most obvious trade of the year.

Part of this new deal forces $HE to restructure their electrical infrastructure to include solar. Because Hawaii is a chain of islands and each island needs its own electrical infrastructure, the net metering policies common to other electrical service providers is more challenging in Hawaii. On the surface this would appear to hurt $HE long term because they are forced to share electrical generation with small providers and home owners with solar. However, these plans don't seem to force $HE to sacrifice electrical transit infrastructure. Which is required for solar panels to sell power back to the grid. Effectively turning the power grid into a highway with many toll roads.

>NOOOOOO, you can't fuck of our PPI, that is unfair, we were on the path of disinflation
>NOOOOOOO, PCE IS THE STANDARD METRIC NOW

>Finally, the indexes differ in how they account for changes in the basket. This is referred to as the formula effect, because the indexes themselves are calculated using different formulae. The details can get quite complicated, but the gist of the matter is that the PCE tries to account for substitution between goods when one good gets more expensive. Thus, if the price of bread goes up, people buy less bread, and the PCE uses a new basket of goods that accounts for people buying less bread. The CPI uses the same basket as before (again, roughly; the details get complicated).

Yes, this is what they always say during AI-spring. During AI-winter people reel at the cringiness of "AI". This is such a well known phenomena that the boom and bust cycles are known as "winter" and "spring". If you look at the Wikipedia article (I know not a reliable source) you'll quickly find half a dozen or more different cycles. "But this time its different". "But this time computers are more powerful". "But this time we have some innovation that makes up the difference". It never plays out.

Nope. The option will lose all extrinsic value by expiration (theta), and will be left with intrinsic only (now that it's ITM). Look at the same strike at the closest expiration date. That will give you a better idea of what the price will be. Basically sell now for more money since there is extrinsic + intrinsic value.

>>58001839
Yes if you think it drops in significantly in the time til expiry. You have to decide now if the DECAY/Value loss of your option because of time will be lower than the gains you make if the stock drops further.

If the stock only dumps a few cents and your option still has one month time, even if it goes lower, the time decay (theta) could make your option less worth later despite the stock being lower.

Options are inherently linked to TIME. Time is of the essence. Timing wrong fucks you up. Picrel

He would have been right a few days later. But, EOD expiry. Boom

ECB members also are retarded. Inflation peaked in Oct 2022 in europe. In the US it was June 2022. Now inflation restarts in the US. They think because inflation is now at 2,6% (because Feb 2023 was 8,5%) they can cut.
ECB wants to cut in june, when their inflation will likely start going up
US inflation feb was 3,2%, but Feb 2023 was 6,0%. So the YOY also helps ECB.

My guy, markets don’t go parabolic unless they’re being pumped on purpose or by idiots. It was only a matter of time before they came back to reality. At some point the greed turns to concern and the big boys take their profits which precipitates a panic by retail and smaller guys so it goes from overbought to oversold. We also got the CPI figures and it’s still too high to lower rates which is bearish for tech. You’ll learn eventually. It’s taken me 9 years and close to 200k in lost gains (like, should have taken my profits when it was obvious and not held on when it was time to sell) so I’m not trying to be a dick, just trying to convince you that the time to sell up and go cash is here unless you want to ride inverse stuff.

In terms of both technological and market trends, the AI optimism we're seeing looks extremely similar to the dotcom bubble. We are only in the early stages of it right now. The most likely course of events is that retards who don't have the faintest understanding of how this stuff works will yeet massive amounts of capital into companies that promise the moon. 90% of them will fail and there will be a huge crash as people realize the AI tech isn't what they thought it was. And then over the course of the next 10–30 years, AI will play out in a more fully fledged way having broad-reaching and significant impact on society. TLDR buy for the long-term and don't invest in hype
