57924651 No.57924651 [Reply] [Original]

I'm from Argentina and not born in some rich family so naturally I struggle a lot here, and I'm getting into crypto. I have been reading this board for months and most of my savings are in ETH and Chainlink rn... I also had the og pepes for awhile and I wish I didn't listen when they told me it was a scam when I bought them at cents as they are now 1.14 USD... but for ETH it seems you need a really big budget to make money out of it, and for chainlink it seems to not be as trustworthy as I was told. So I was reading that AVI was a good investment here yesterday but now when I tried to invest some of my ETH into AVI I realized that the gas fee was like $45 and thats TOO MUCH, almost as much as the amount I want to buy lol. Others say to buy kaspa but not sure how reliable it is/how much the fees are (also unsure how to buy it I've made a kaspa wallet but can't find a way to swap other crypto for kaspa), so if I'm willing to use 100 USD of saving to invest which coin would it be the best? One that isn't a scam and can guarantee good money in future

With only $100 you need to look for smaller coins. That's only way to make a decent amount of profit. LINU is about to be listed on 2 more exchanges with more following after. That alone will increase the market cap and will give you a great return with an initial $100 invested.

Thats the gas fee and unfortunately just how things are for the Eth chain. It makes it hard for people to get into things with smaller amounts of money. If the gas fee is too much for you, you can try making a Citex account, thats the only CEX we are listed in currently. No gas fees on exchanges. More coming in the coming days as mentioned but price will likely spike upwards from then.

Wish I had a better answer, gas fees suck.

CEX = centralized exchange. Think coinbase, binance, kucoin, etc. They DO have fees, typically 0.2%-0.6% of every trade. Which is tremendously lower than a gas fee of $50. CEX make money because there are billions of trades happening every day, they are scraping a piece of a single percentage point every time. Downsides to CEX come down to the trustworthiness of the CEX itself. Which is why Linu admins are pushing aggressively to have Linu listed on bigger and bigger CEXs that are more reputable and have more users to access.

With a wallet, you control your assets, your security is not based on anything but you. An exchange going bankrupt wouldnt affect you for example. However by using DEX (decentralized exchanges) you must pay gas fees because this is what allows these trades to be processed across the blockchain with no centralized trading house. You have more control of your assets but for users that dont have that much the gas fees can be murderous.

For most people trading on CEX is “better” but holding assets in a wallet when not actively being traded is the smart move.

>> No.57925394

>>57925349
Ah I get it, yeah I use binance as my main "CEX" then but Linu isn't here from what I see, so if Linu gets in Binance one day it means it could go very high on price? considering >>57924825
That being listed on bitmart as this anon says could change its price

Anyway thanks for that explaination, it is clearer for me now, I was worried it could be a scam site, now I have to see how I can buy through there. In binance I basically buy through p2p with other argies through "mercado pago" app, not sure if with citex works the same way

>> No.57925629

>>57925394
To be honest i never used Citex. Id imagine it works just the same though. Binance is the largest CEX in the world so yeah, getting listed there would make the price skyrocket, but Binance wouldnt even consider listing Linu this early on. For now the admins are going for mid level exchanges although some top 10 CEXs have reached out with interest.

One thing i forgot is be sure to check the CEX price vs the DEX price because sometimes the CEX might have users asking more than its worth off of that exchange. As more exchanges start listing Linu the prices between markets will begin to normalize.

ok good, it sounds like you use Binance. holding all your funds on eth mainnet is too expensive when you don't have much money. you'll need to check, but Binance should allow you to withdraw ETH to an L2 like Arbitrum or Optimism. you'll need a wallet like Metamask or Rabby. L2s have way lower fees and they will get even cheaper by late March. That said I would suggest caution buying anything shilled here or on Telegram

Its a very small exchange based in Singapore. There have been several anons who purchased there without issue, if I remember correctly they had to use a taiwanese VPN or use the korean version of the website and use the translate to english feature. Obviously youd want to use a bigger exchange once they are available. It might not hurt to wait til very late at night (ie; 3am) and see what gas fees look like, typically that is when they are at their lowest and you might have better luck then. But yeah as far as Citex goes, you may wish to ask people in the TG about it, I can only relay what I have heard others say. If you had more money to work with I would say 100% just eat the gas fee but with only $100 or so youd be losing like half right off the bat.

Last resort? Missing Linu would suck, but if it werent for that, I would probably be holding Doge still. You can at least expect it to double from where it is now, I think $1 doge is entirely possible as well. No. There is a person who runs pump and dump scams across pretty much any dog related coin, many others too. His schemes got exposed and last night his pump and dump on $Lucky failed, so he tried to start one on $Tosa today and that failed as well because myself and many other anons went into every thread he made and showed the proof that he is a scammer. You think $50 gas fee is bad, this guy spent literally over $5000 in gas fees making 60+ transactions attempting to crash Linu’s price with dozens of small sell orders (to make it appear like tons of people were selling) and dozens of small buy orders in $Lucky (to make it appear like tons of people were buying). As this went on, he spammed threads saying how Linu is a scam, and Lucky is the real deal - until it became apparent that this was the work of a single pump and dumper. He now hates Linu threads because of being exposed.
0xB9D79FF0Da45EE1C11cd866c2F695239f861A90e

Thats his main wallet, he uses several other wallets as well to run his pump and dump operation, you can see everything on the blockchain.

Like i mentioned earlier, you should join the Linu TG (linucommunity) and research more. DONT just buy because im saying so. Im hoping you are also doing your homework on this because even though I may have good intentions, you cannot trust me or anyone else for that matter. Theres tons of infographics on the TG to back up all Ive said though and you can ask questions as well which is why I recommend it.

It's a blockchain that plugs into Ethereum. The biggest ones are Arbitrum and Optimism. There are also many smaller, newer ones (like Base). It's a bit of a rabbit hole, but if you want to trade things that aren't listed on Binance, having liquid ETH on an L2 is the way to go. You can also potentially farm for airdrops, but that's a whole different kettle of fish. Biggest thing is that L2 gas fees will drop 10x by the end of the month, so they'll be even easier to use

Think of every chain as its own separate island. Right now the LINU token only exists on the Ethereum island, it's not anywhere else. Arbitrum and Base are starting points for cheaper trading (swaps should cost less than $2 there btw, and should drop to 20 cents by late March), but every chain is going to be different in terms of which tokens it has. You'll see on Dexscreener where the tokens are - it should tell you which chain it's on, which exchange, and how much liquidity is available. Your money on Arbitrum isn't lost, at worst you can send it back to Binance (just remember to follow the steps to send it back on Arbitrum). If you want to get involved with decentralized finance, you should spend some time reading about DEXes, bridges, and L2s, you'll learn more about how to comfortably move money around and get it where you want it

One thing I still don't quite understand. Can I avoid gas fees using something like Arb or not? I can't find a guide on how to do it and Eth gas is killer

the fees on L2 are very low compared to Ethereum mainnet. A swap that would cost $35+ on mainnet will be under $2 on Arbitrum. the trick is getting to L2 in the first place. the cheapest way is to withdraw from a CEX straight to L2, which most exchanges now allow. the other way is to manually bridge from mainnet to L2

>Btw if I make it in crypto (doubtful) I was thinking of Argentina as a country to move to (I'm in Canada) should I come? I mean, at least the weather is nice and the women are beautiful right?

If you have a lot of money Argentina is actually a great country to live, as long you don't have to work here with the local salaries

You are welcome. I have a soft spot for Argies. Just make sure that when the time comes where you are in a good position that you remember to pay it forward to someone else who could use a helping hand.

Of course if I was in good position enough to spare some, I would help someone in my situation, and giving the margin that I know how much sucks to be in the floor I have a better understanding of how much it matters, I'm not sure if I will become rich with these coins but considering how screwed Argentina economy is, that amount is a lot (there's a reason of why I wasn't willing to swap with that GAS price). I hope I can be on the other side one day.

Really thank u a lot!

Well if Linu really does turn out to be the next Shib you can expect that to 1000x so yeah you would be sitting quite alright. Lots of change is afoot, the world is changing and Argentina is probably going to a key player in it once the global economy crashes and resets. Many countries in the world would be very prosperous if it were not for the bankers sucking the blood out from them.

89$ x 1000 would be 89.000 USD, that would literally change my life forever, I could even quit being a waggie by basically doing a business of myself here instead of just being an employee, a self employee instead while I study how to code (I want to study compsci, so I can get job in foreign companies).

Might be some time but yeah it is looking very optimistic. You would probably have no problem finding work in that field being female as well as bilingual, in fact you would be pretty much guaranteed a job here assuming you went through the proper schooling. One foot in front of the other. Keep looking into crypto, theres a lot of interesting stuff out there, but beware it is still very much the wild west and quite lawless so it is very easy to fall victims to scams if youre not careful.

You've ruined this thread, I was having fun watching this whore losing money with fees and trying to understand how blockchains work. Fuck you.

My english sucks when it's spoken though, I think I can only have conversations when it's writen only. But I guess that's something you learn with practice.

Yeah I have been into this world for months and I still don't quite understand it very well asides from some basics, but when people start using certain terms I get lost fast. I hope this can really change things.

Thank you again
