In my case I was poor, then a debt slave, then a slave slave, and then FINALLY after I paid off my denbts and missed the 2017 bullrun, I got in. Fuck me I should have at least been DCA'ing a little bit as soon as I was making money but I was shortsighted and laser focused on getting debt free. Turned out to be very sub-optimal but at least I'm still debt free and have already retired. I'm just not "owns a yacht" rich.

Oh yeah, it was a huge weight off my shoulders. Like I would have been suicidal if I didn't have sheer spite as a reason to keep living. After the debt was gone I really started to grow as a person, too. Developed hobbies, learned what I really like, started to ENJOY life instead of just suffering through it.

Retiring was another big step. I can't imagine going back to waging just as much as I can't imagine going back to being a debt-slave.
