And XRP has lost substantially to both ETH and BTC on the one year chart and that's even with a huge SEC pump at the sixth month mark roughly.

Now...I hold XRP obviously, but telling people to check the chart may not be a great idea.

Daily reminder we are still being held up on the AMM amendment by these garage-tier teams.
They have no business model, no source of income, and want to stall the amendment so they can get ripple to promise them grand money, validator rewards, or some other tax on the system that makes life cushy for all their lowbie efforts.

These people are working against the XRP community. Most of them have their hand in several other projects, and XRP is only the side thing they have going. They want to use amendment blocking to safeguard the ledger, but this is just code word for extortion.

cabbit.tech is a literal therapist who runs a bunch of validators and computer projects as side gigs. has no business weighing on security proposals.

xrpscan has no business model. they and bithomp thought they were going to somehow make money providing data feeds on a website. they haven't added new features, have no clue about how to jump into the payment space so they are just trying to hock off their web dev skills as xrp developers. psht.

most of these projects are down to a few people. they are holding on with the skin of their teeth, and i get that. i just don't want them to hold up the development of the ledger while they find their place in the world. just go to xlm where the block chain was made to accommodate smaller teams.

A couple of them got in public arguments with david over the AMM vs. the hooks ammendment. I think they saw hooks as a way to onboard a bunch of eth type nfts and easy money. they would have a bunch of traffic, people wanting to see the nfts, trade them, auction them like open sea and I think they are disappointed ripple wants to keep a payments system. If you bog it down with a bunch of stupid crap, it loses the value it has to major institutions. the world NEEDS xrp as a payment hub more than they need it as an nft carnival.

if you even look at some of the "proposals" that were popularly floating around, they mentioned creating a validator reward system and tier grade... so that certain validators would be entitled to rewards for "propping up the xrp ecosystem" ... which is bs.

The speculative side of XRP, which they catered to is meaningless in the long run. THe ONLY thing with long term value is the payments structure. They know their power is waning. As soon as the banks come online, they will be the UNL and these few teams will find themselves unimportant and outvoted by a massive factor.

They basically have to force it now or they never will be able to.

can i watch? also, idk what you mean by "eth type nfts" but we already have that. we have people trading and auctioning them like they do on opensea. what we don't have is interest, people wanting to see (and subsequently own) the nfts. from first hand experience i can tell you that the xrpl nft scene is as dead and uninteresting to normies as the xrpl

>/xsg/ has turned into another crypto twitter xrpl community gossip venue
maaan shit. i thought this was a place to get away from that BS.
what i think would be neat to see is a recognition that both sides have valid points (running validators especially full history nodes is expensive and if you don't have bank or corporate money, then that's not very attractive or sustainable) (also compromising the core functionality of XRPL to pay validators is dump)
perhaps instead of XRPL community insiders bitching we could use this as a place to talk about changes that we could realistically implement to meet the needs of all parties involved, in a way that is beneficial to them as well as to the community and network at large.

I have one: how about finding a nonprofit willing to run XRPL network infrastructure using money from tax-deductible donations?
here's one that does exactly that for the Stellar network (they run several of Stellar's "gold level" validators which is more or less equivalent to their UNL list)
https://publicnode.org/
maybe some schizo has a connection with them already and could reach out and see if they are willing to take donations to spin up some validators and/or disburse funds to existing validators.

what are some other ways we can incentivize running a node on XRPL without making changes to the core protocol? it could be built on top of the XRPL but not an amendment probably.
a token? a hook on Xahau?
an online marketplace where you can buy stuff with XRP and "round up" transactions to donate to the validators?
a ValidatorDAO?
once AMM goes live maybe some kind of collective liquidity provision pool where the fees go to running validators?

if there's one thing i really, really can't stand it's seeing communities/projects i'm invested in get torn apart by backbiting gossip so cut that shit out right now.

anyway Bithomp and xrpscan have provided a public good for the XRPL for years now and the sites are awesome, they just work.
the cabbit dude apparently has a full time job and is also providing network infrastructure out of his pocket for free.
it's lame to slander them on an anonymous forum no matter how much of an veteran XRPL insider you are.

if you're going to take a leadership role in a community you should focus on bringing people together instead of splitting them apart into teams and insulting them for trying to get compensated.

everyone in the XRPL world is broke and exhausted right now as we've watched seemingly every other blockchain make a lot more money than us.

XLM is the only other blockchain with "no incentive=best incentive" built in and the Stellar Community Fund throws money at infrastructure projects more readily than RippleX.

it's easy for communities, especially small ones with huge goals facing difficult circumstances to get divided and acrimonious. that isn't good for anyone, on any level.

i will say that one thing i've noticed is that XRPL has some genius level tech people but not many organizationally minded social project manager types.

It's not hard to see why: ETH and the L2s have caused a brain drain, leaving other blockchain communities populated by hardcore autists who are in it for the tech (or grifters in it for the money) instead of the vision of what it can do. (and the corrupt VCs and finance/tech industry players behind ETH and the L2s have spent a great deal on attracting this talent, it didn't just happen)
so that puts XRPL folks, and RippleX/XRPLF in a tough position. and that's entirely separate from the lawsuit bullshit AND the fact that Ripple is seen as the evil empire corporate crypto by the other (JP morgan/Consensys-owned) blockchains.

XLS-20d has that cool royalties feature, what about an NFT collection that pays royalties to an XRPL Validator DAO treasury, that validator guys can draw down on to pay their electric bills every month? i'd buy one of those

do we have any schizos know XRPL NFTs in here?

one more thing, this idea that "as soon as big banks move in, existing validators and community members will be irrelevant and forgotten" is retarded, couldn't be more wrong IMO. for a few reasons

a) when XSG schizos are proven correct and XRP is revealed to be The Standard etc etc, there will be a corresponding rush of retail activity. the people who have been running infrastructure for years without reward deserve to have their contributions during the lean years honored. (the Xahau leaders table or whatever they call it is kind of like this, but not enough IMO)

b) IMO the "XRPL community" will be one of many walled gardens and perhaps one of the most important ones in the coming system, because it's where citizens will get to have a voice and influence economic behavior directly, a seat at the table with the central banks and governments. we have to preserve that- writing it off as a foregone conclusion is defeatist and wrong.

XRPL will be the economic bridge between BRICS and G20 nations. the existing retail UNL list stands to be a third power- the nexus of an emerging parallel society/network state that isn't aligned with any nation state. especially once the AMM comes online, this will be really important.

in my opinion that means we should figure out a way to organize and incentivize participation. paying the validators without amending the core XRPL node incentive structure is a great step 1 for that. it seemed like Wietse and XRPL labs were heading in taht direction with Xahau, but then they made some design decisions that short circuited that in my opinion.
some kind of DAO to support XRPL network infrastructure would be cool.

hey guys, it's me the no-hope guy sudoku myself because of XRP. just found out that my crush in church had 6 XLM on her phone when I talked about crypto during break time in the kitchen.

she just joined the conversation and suddenly told me that she bought some crypto and whatever since she doesn't even know what she bought. She handed her phone to me and showed her crypto. She is the only person, apart from my pastor and his wife, to actually own a single coin. I told her to buy more instead of spending her money with iced coffee and I'm planning to convince her more.

Well, I spent a lot of time convincing my churchmates to buy crypto, this and that a couple of months ago but nobody ever listened. I taught them step by step how but nobody ever did. Then now realizing, my crush is the one who knows it and now I gotta have to convince her to save her money and teach her some finance.

So guys, what coin should I suggest to her? That couldn't be XRP, I want to have a good reputation and image for her. Of course I can explain the use case of XRP and XLM, but I want her to be amazed at a green candle tower suddenly and make her happy coz if she's happy then I'm happy too

royalties don't amount to much when an nft is bought and held. i think the best implementation would be a lottery nft system built to fund a Validator Fund. periodically (monthly?), a number of new burnable lottery nfts would all be minted and listed on the market at the same price. users would buy as many of these nfts as they desired to increase their chances of winning the lottery. a random selection of one of the nfts would be conducted to decide a winner. xx% of proceeds go to validators, while x% goes to the lottery winner. that batch of nfts would then all be burned by the minting wallet, and a new batch minted and listed. one downside is that the minting wallet cannot be blackholed, as it has to disburse funds, which would be done by a centralized entity.

what would we need to start making that idea a reality?

maybe relevant:
i am in touch with a guy who made a public good funding lottery NFT thing on Farcaster, farcaster is on Optimism, so their method uses EVM/solidity but this could be done on the XRPL EVM sidechain or adapted to work with XRPL infra.

>royalties can be adjusted, no?
idk. my point was that the nfts in that case would be held as opposed to actively traded. since they are paid on every sale, royalties are more meaningful the more an nft is traded. royalties wouldn't really matter at all in the lottery scenario, though.
i am not a dev, but as far as i can guess, all you'd need to start it up are optional nft image assets and the ability to deploy an nft collection on the ledger, which seems to be quite retard proof, thanks to marketplace launchpads. you'd also very likely want to end up writing a program to automate the process through some kind of on-demand shareclaim disbursal solution, so that winners/validators can claim funds as soon as they're eligible. unclaimed winnings/validator funds would be burned or rolled into the next round. minting and listing an entire several thousand nft collection manually every week would suck ass, so you'd work toward automating that, as well.

The Coinbase case isn't going to help Ripple win against SEC. The legal noose is drawing tighter everyday.
If they don't settle soon, SEC will be submitting everything they have on Ripple's illegal security sales to institutions from 2022-2023 by March 22nd. Ripple will claim SEC has no jurisdiction over its ODL sales to overseas institutions, and they will find out their whole argument about 'SEC has no jurisdiction over our foreign transactions' is completely meaningless. They are counting on their non-US friends to come to their aid, and they are in for a surprise.
Ripple will be forced to settle one way or another, or otherwise they will keep destroying their own agenda and project. These entitled globalist morons have no idea how entrapped they really are.

1. all TA is meaningless and functionally useless because markets move according to unpredictable and unknowable external factors/manipulation

2. therefore TA should be judged according to other criteria

3. the criteria I choose to judge TA by are: aesthetics and schizo intuition

4. Your TA is both aesthetically pleasing and schizophrenic, far beyond any other TA I've ever seen

Ergo, your TA is the only one I care about and when I "make it" i am going to make high quality prints of some of my favorite pieces and put them around my house

we all have a part to play, my friend
i remember unironically, literally, sincerely believing in my heart of hearts that XRP's price would increase when XSG got to thread #2222

in retrospect, that was not a very healthy time in my life

This is some sort of bot or someone going through a mental health crisis. Xrp is the q of the crypto world, don’t get too invested in it

>> No.57825774

>>57825745
Yes, those are mental gymnastics to cope

>>57825746
If I was a bot than I would stop responding at 99 posts, or maybe thats exactly what a bot would want you to think

holding XRP is hard and difficult in a similar way to how solitary confinement is the worst torture i think. requires mental fortitude

for the first year or two i felt like it was "building character" but now i am pretty sure i'm just getting brain damage

axelar is cool actually, it's like quant kinda. founded by ex-algorand with heavy fintech connections. i assume this is intended to be another bridge between XRPL world and JPMcoin blackrock citibank world. i take this as definitive proof that the Switch will be Flipped in 2 weeks or less
