We are going to fucking moon this week. Hope yall got calls. This position is the perfect spot for someone looking for long term money. Earnings will be a great victory. This will make GME look like childs play.

Despite a new uptrend beginning recently, BIG's short interest has increased to 25.35% (4.33 days to cover). It's wound even tighter than it was before.

Big Lots (BIG) is primed for a comeback in 2024: They are priced for bankruptcy, but they are NOT going to go bankrupt in 2024. In their last quarterly report, they had 1,314 million in current assets (assets that are either cash or can be readily converted to cash), but with an average quarterly cash burn of only 132 million per quarter for the last 5 quarters, they have a very long runway, probably more than 2 years. Additionally, their debt levels are low: 533 million in long term debt versus 3.6 billion in assets.

Catalyst for the stock's turnaround: marginal improvement in finances.

The current equity value per share (all assets minus all liabilities) is $10.72 per share, and BIG recently acquired 22 million worth of new toys inventory that could help boost sales in 2024. Even slightly improved sales and revenues figures would cause the stock to be revalued drastically higher.

Shorts should be sweating right now. Various institutions increased their ownership in Big Lots at the end of 2023. Now, it has about 75% institutional ownership and 25.35% short interest. We’ve recently seen the start of a nice uptrend (7 days in a row green) and short interest still hasn’t gone down. It's wound tight. Short interest ratio is high (4.52 days), so when it starts to really run its going to take a while for it to play out.

One notable institution involved in the stock is Michael Burrys Scion Capital, who was in GME before it got popular on wsb and BBBY before the first huge pump. BIG, however, does not have the high debt issue that eventually caused Bed Bath to go down. BBBY suffered from an inability to get financing and was forced to result to "death spiral financing". BIG is unlikely to fall down this path due to low debt levels.

Reposting from /pol/ :
GME was a once in a life time exception that has still created a generation of bagholders and you're a fucking retard for buying into this shit. High short interest means a stock is priced too high because it's difficult to borrow shares to short it and enable price discovery downside.
And that's the case for this shit company with no future on the verge of bankruptcy.
Enjoy bagholding forever.

ath either wednesday night, thursday or it will keep pumping until 2 weeks later. if earnings is good i can see us running to 30-50 in near future. Company is undervalued based on current metrics and needs a positive earnings to give it support it needs to be taken seriously. Such a low MCAP, Can move very quickly.

Goodwill is to Walmart what
Big Lots is to Target. Only difference is neither can't expand because they barely make enough to make ends meet. Why does reddit do it, man?

>> No.57821844

ya bros, real world data from my corner of the world: I have never seen more than 6 cars in the big lots parking lot. If I wanted crappy chinese made shit, I'd just go to goodwill or a garage sale. They are a rotten business from the core. at least with BBBY there was a fanbase of customers, this store has none of that. There are way too many stores and online shops that sell the same crap, if not better crap for a cheaper price.

but there could be a dead cat bounce. so sell when that happens. I wish I sold my bbby when they jumped 75% on a friday, I try to sell on monday its gone.

>> No.57822830

>>57821844
I remember BBBY baggots also using real world data, which does not mater and is unreliable.
