There are tons of guys at my work making $150k+ in their 50s and 60s, with two guys in their 70s. If you've made that much money for a reasonable portion of your life, there's no way you wouldn't be able to retire at that age. I've done the numbers with my wife, and we have a really good chance of retiring by the time we're 40 and are basically guaranteed to be able to retire by 50.
