The essence of good fud is that it is based on a kernel of truth. Anyone can easily look at the CCIP explorer and see that the Dune dashboard data is not accurate. It's just bad fud.

This wallet alone has done 150 mainnet transactions in the last 24 hours and it paid for all of them in LINK: https://ccip.chain.link/address/0xe1c14b9f065dead2e89ee35382f8bd42bdb87a04

As all can see, the token is not needed.

Though I admire the resilience of the Link marines, at one point we gotta talk about lost opportunity cost. How many more years do you want to hold when the value doesn't really go up while other stuff keeps rising? You'd feel pretty stupid still repeating this in ten years, "But in 2018 it went up a lot!!!"

Link was like 50% of my portfolio and now it's like 5%. It's been bleeding against btc and eth since 2020. You'd have to be insane to have significant exposure to it. It's a good project on paper and has good fundamentals but it's performance has been dog shit. I've already accrued more opportunity cost than I can handle. My only regret is not pivoting to other coins sooner. Far more bullish on btc and eth with the approval of ETFs and the burn feature.

OG linkies were screeching 1k EOY for years. According to the memes it was suppose to be a top 3 coin. Saying it was a good investment if you got out early just proves the anon's point, that it's been a sub par investment overall.

this is just incorrect though
if you bought link between late 2019 and mid 2021 then yes you are down vs eth
but since mid 2021 it has been ranging

>> No.57747033

>>57746969
>if you bought link between late 2019 and mid 2021 then yes you are down vs eth
yes which was my point with, "Saying it was a good investment if you got out early just proves the anon's point, that it's been a sub par investment overall".

If you would chose to invest in link during the latter 80% of its history then you came out worse than if you would have just invested into btc or eth. "It was only profitable for the minority of very early investors" condemns link, not exonerates it. Especially considering it was suppose to be a paradigm changing coin according to og linkers.

>but since mid 2021 it has been ranging
Are we looking at the same graph? It's been crabbing since 2022 with a slight uptick the past month or two. Horrible opportunity cost like other anon said.

???
if it's crabbing vs eth or btc then it isn't a terrible investment... it's holding its value and it's neutral...
again there is a 18 month window where it was a bad buy

nearly all of the anger you see is actually from early buyers who did not sell during that 18 month spike vs btc and eth

as to whether it's a paradigm changing project, well that's still too early to tell. it looks very promising though

>> No.57747249

>>57747133
it's been in a decline/crab since 2021 or 2020 (depending on whether you're looking at btc or eth). So it hasn't been raging like you said. The relevant question at hand was the opportunity cost of holding link post 2020/2021. Was there better plays than link? Certainly. So there was an opportunity cost.

>as to whether it's a paradigm changing project, well that's still too early to tell. it looks very promising though
This loops back around to opportunity cost. If you want to bag hold for 10 years then go ahead. But most people want to make money quickly as possible. I do think link will have it's day in the sun, but we're on the eve of the next big cycle and there are FAR more bullish charts out there. Link's is very underwhelming.

i find it funny that they always invited him on to talk mainly about bitcoin and sometimes theyll talk about defi for a second if one of the roasties wants to sound like they're up to speed on what's going on. he's a great person to talk to about bitcoin but you'd think they'd talk to him about link. it's like having vitalik on and not talking to him about ethereum or hoskinson on and not talking to him about cardano. it's just so weird to me that they don't give a fuck about link even if they have sergey there lmao.
