To put it bluntly, mom's got no teeth.

It was a long many year process (of metaphorical kicking and screaming) to get her to even see a dentist and assess the damage over the decades. A tooth falling out lit a fire but it was still a long process to get work done with multiple delays over dumb things (in addition to metaphorical kicking and screaming). On the way to getting all-on-4 dental implants, she's gotten the problem teeth removed and bone stuff examined/worked on and recently has gotten dentures. Implants to follow in the future (hopefully sooner than later).

Even when she still had teeth she'd cut down her options of stuff she'd eat because of tooth pain. A lot of the stuff we get or make for her she says tastes bad or she can't eat because of her teeth/mouth. Then I'd catch her eating Cheetos puffs later (before the teeth extractions) so I dunno. She picks and makes a vast majority of the food she eats by herself.

She's still grumpy about the dental work, but I'm hoping it'll be worth it in the end when she can actually eat more stuff again.

Things are getting so bad now that the desperate are trying to claim that BBBY is being turned round by Ryan Cohen and he's also bringing Toys 'R' US back from the dead which will "launch all the zombie stocks that are held in an ETF basket together."

Things are looking pretty grim, as the finance industry successful robs the entire planet again, but we should try to take solace in the fact that we're not speaking German.

Gamestop issued a dividend and it was the DTCC who stole shares from European brokers and tole them to handle it like a split. This 100% confirms the existence of a systemic naked short position. With that said, how do the hedgies keep it open?
The answer is the hedged away the exposure. By using Total Return Swaps, they have found a counterparty who is willing to pay out profits on the short position of GME. This allows the shorts to make money WITHOUT needing to sell. This means they have a counterparty willing to eat losses and prop up the shorts.
The problem for the hedgies? They can only hedge current exposure. So if they were naked-short 1million shares, all they can do is hedge it away so any gains/losses net out to zero.
What they CAN NOT do is stop people from buying more share and thereby requiring them to naked short sell even more shares and then find another counterparty to eat the losses on their behalf. GME is mispriced because no one is actually selling shares and almost ALL of the liquidity comes from naked shorting which requires layers upon layers upon layers of increasing exposure to counterparty risk in the form of derivatives.
The best thing to do here is to trust that the unwinding of GME is 100% certain and it may very well break the entire financial system. Hedge your bets with precious metals held outside of the financial system. Closing out GME is basically an impossible task they created. And the counterparty nature of derivatives could create a chain reaction that brings down everyone. This is not hyperbole.
If you buy 1 share or 100 this week. Every single one comes at a great cost and substantial risk for the shorts. The fact that they can not close out already and it only gets worse should be a clue in trying to figure out what MOASS is going to look like.

I think the nature of "short selling" is so offensive to operational managers who are often compensated with equity, that a bear trap of epic proportions to slaughter them wholesale is absolutely something that has crossed people's minds before. I think retail is important in that Wallstreet probably has an M.O. that they don't want their profits seeping into Mainstreet's hands very often. So they are failing in that regard. But also, they really can't negotiate their way out of this because retail is watching their every move. Even now, MMTLP is such a shitshow that it is being looked at by Congress. So shorts are in very very very big trouble.
